About this Cook
I am an artist, specializing in oils and portraiture. I enjoy most artistic endeavors and cooking certainly fits into that category.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new recipes and especially enjoy trying new ethnic foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother was a gourmet cook and, years ago she and my father owned a small restaurant in the Catskill Mountains. Mother was Spanish and French and she and my father enjoyed entertaining friends in their home. She was known for her elaborate cocktail parties and especially the hors d'oeuvres she created. I inherited her passion for the same.
My cooking triumphs
Authentic Spanish Paella!!
My cooking tragedies
Since my mother was such a great cook, I had never even boiled an egg until after I married. My new husband, naturally, thought I could cook like she did...the first meals I prepared were all disastrous.

Eggplant Mixed Grill
I have a bummper crop of eggplant and yellow peppers. This marinade is excellent and the only thing I did differently was sprinkle the grilled veggies with a bit of freshly grated parmesan. Loved it!

Best Benedictine Spread
Thirty years ago we moved to Texas from Louisville. No one here had ever heard of Benedictine...a Louisville staple! I've made this recipe several times and it is always a hit at parties. Thanks for sharing!!

Grilled Garlic Artichokes
I have been growing artichokes in my garden and this is my favorite recipe for serving them. it is basically the same as the ones served at Houston's which are fabulous. For appetizers, try this method, using baby artichokes...they are a crowd pleaser!
