Amazing pie! I've made it twice now and it came out absolutely delicious both times. I followed the recipe exactly the first time and it came out great. The second time I decided to tweak it a little to add some stronger banana flavor. I caramelized 2 bananas in a little bit of brown sugar and butter before starting on the cream filling. After I made the cream and separated it, I added the caramelized bananas to the vanilla cream - YUM! Also, I always add a little fresh lemon juice to the bananas to help keep them from turning brown when they are layered in the pie. Oh, and both times I made it I used an oreo cookie crust instead of plain pie crust.
