Cauliflower and Broccoli Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2005
This was the first time I had made a cheese sauce. I was really nervous, I always seem to have bad luck with trying to thicken sauces. This was incredible! What an awesome recipe! I didn't use mustard because I didn't have any. I had to use marble cheese, because that's all I had. Next time I'd use a sharper cheese, just because my own personal taste likes a strong cheese flavour. This will definitely be part of Christmas dinner!

Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2005
These were incredible!! I think next time I'll bake them for 2 hours, I found these burned quite quickly on the grill (without the sauce). The sauce was wonderful!! I did my big grocery shop, and forgot to buy tomato paste. I had to improvise with ketchup. Next time I'll try it the way I'm supposed to. I also want to say that someone said that liquid smoke should not be used. I disagree. The liquid smoke enhances the flavour, it doesn't overpower it. These were excellent, I would not change one single ingredient! I'm very much looking forward to making these again. My husband has said that I have found the perfect way to make ribs.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2005
This was probably the best spinach and artichoke dip I have ever eaten and I've probably tried at least 6. It was perfect!! Just time it so that you serve it at least half an hour after guests arrive. It doesn't cool nicely, but what type of cheese does? Awesome!! Five Stars!

Green Risotto with Fava Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2004
This was by far the best risotto I have ever had. I was so creamy! I did end up having to use 6 cups of broth so you might want to keep a bit extra on hand. I just keep tasting until I had the consistency I liked.

Pork Chops with Apples, Onions, and Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2003
This was awesome. My boyfriend has never wanted pork chops - until now. The chops were a bit dry, but that's my fault. Please remember to cover the dish!! I think next time I'll sear the chops before I put them in. The potatoes were perfect. I even threw in some button mushrooms after 45 minutes. Yum!

Deviled Eggs I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2003
I have never made devilled eggs before. I was nervous, but they turned out so good. Not one left! I found it a bit dry though. Kinda sticky. Not sure what I did wrong there!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2003
Really good! I cut these up into bite size pieces, brushed with oil, and put the other ingredients into a baggie, shook them up so they were evenly coated and served with rotini in a rose sauce.

Bread and Celery Stuffing

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2003
Oh my gosh! I can't believe how good this was! I was making turkey for the first time, for my boyfriend's family. I was terrified! They loved the stuffing! Even his brother who hates stuffing ate some! I stuffed the turkey with it, and had some left over. It was a little too moist for my liking, but I baked the leftovers which was a bit crunchy. I mixed both together, and thank God! It came out perfect! Thanks Carlotta!

The was really good. I forgot to by leeks, so I tucked thinly sliced garlic under the skin, and put rosemary in the cavity. Yum.

Tasty BBQ Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2003
I LOVED this! It was so good. I will definately make this again. The color of the corn before the grill wasn't so great, but when it came out the corn was a lovely yellow. Strange, but true!

Old Fashioned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2003
This was very good. I used dijon mustard, instead of prepared mustard, but I don't think it changed the taste too much. I also added two tablespoons of miracle whip, to give it that added zip. I will definately make this again.

Chicken A La Yummy

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2003
This was pretty good. I don't think I marinated long enough. I used a merlot wine, which I probably won't do again, it was too sour. I will use this again, I just think I'll adjust the recipe a bit, maybe using white wine. I also melted grated asiago cheese on it.

Zinfandel Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2003
This was OK, it was pretty average. I don't know too many people who would use 40 year old sherry for a salad dressing. It's not exactly cheap.

Pork Butt Roast with Vegetables

Reviewed: May 12, 2003
This was amazing! I find that if you crank the oven to about 475 F and cover with foil for 15 minutes you get the same results as you would browning the roast. Just remember to turn it back down after. I covered the roast with fresh garlic instead of the powder. Also, I brushed the veggies with just a bit of vegetable oil and sprinkled them with fresh rosemary.

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2003
This was by far the BEST salad dressing I have ever tasted. I found the vinegar flavour a bit too much, so I added a tsp of water and that adjusted it to my liking.

Lightning Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2003
Maybe I did something wrong, I don't know. The gravy was the color of bile, it would not thicken and there was absolutely no taste to the gravy. IF I were to ever use it again I'd use more buillon, or use Campbells chicken broth. Sometimes the fastest way isn't always the best!
