Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2014
I made this recipe a while ago and loved it. It seem to be close to the large restaurant chain's soup. I only changed one thing and that was the sausage because I now that bulk sausage was used in the original recipe. I used hot Italian soup and kept everything else the same and my family loved it. Thanks for the keeper.

Drop Biscuits and Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2013
I used this recipe for the drop biscuits. I wanted to have some biscuits for breakfast but didn't want to do the usual flouring the counter, rolling and cutting the dough. These were very good. I will be making these again. Thanks Darlene for a great recipe.

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2013
I made these for my family and they loved them. This was my first attempt to make fish tacos and the results were great. I cheated a little - I used a fish and chip batter from my local store to cut down on some of my prep time. I also did not have any dill weed so I used the dill seeds that I had. I know that the weed would've given it a refreshing taste but I just did not want to go to the store. Either way the sauce was VERY GOOD. My family says this is a keeper and I will be adding this to my regular meals. Thanks BREESE823.

Mom's Rum Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
I made this cake some time ago but just now getting around to making my review. This cake was delicious. My mom used to make it and when I came across this recipe I had to bake it for myself. I followed the easy steps to the tee with and exception on the glaze. I made the recommended amount of glaze however I did not pour all of it on my cake for fear that it would be soggy. I did pour about half on but I recommend pouring all of the glaze on the cake. I did have the rum taste (I used a dark Jamaican rum) but it was a very light. Next time I will use all of the glaze. Thanks for the recipe.

Garlic Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
I made this spread in a pinch. I had all of the ingredients and used it immediately. The garlic taste was mild to the smell so I added garlic powder. Instead of using butter I used margarine. I only gave it three stars because of the mild taste. I will remake it with butter and less cream cheese. Thanks for the recipe.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
This chicken was awesome. I love that I was able to put it in the oven and not worry about it. The seasonings were perfect and my family agreed that it tasted like rotisserie chicken. This is a definate keeper. Thanks for the recipe Sue.

Oil Pie Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
I made this crust for a sweet potato pie that I was craving. I didn't want to drive to the store for shortening and I had oil on hand. Maybe I did something wrong even though I followed the recipe's directions. I didn't like this one. I'm going to have to stick with using shortening. Thanks for the recipe, though. :>|

Uncle Dank's Gumbo

Thanks mrboejangles for this recipe. I made this last night for my family and they loved it. I hate when people do this BUT did add an ingrediant - and that was some crab boil seasoning. This recipe was great flavorful and filling. I will add this to my archives and make again soon. Happy eating!!!

Creamy Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2010
I used this sauce on a grilled chicken and pasta dish that I was making and it was FAB-U-LOUS. I've never made a creamy sauce from scratch that was as simple as this one. Thanks for sharing this recipe Aussiedave1. I will be using this one occasionally.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
OMG!!! These are the best hot wings I've ever made. I really tried the wings because griller3 had commented three times on this recipe. And you were right. They came out crispy the way I like them and the sauce wasn't so hot that you couldn't enjoy them and it wasn't so mild that you would think that you were eating plain wings. Because of this recipe wings are now a staple in my home. The Bates family give this recipe ********** (10)stars. Thanks Kelly.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I just took these out of the oven and they are pretty good. I've always wanted to bake with yeast and this is the first recipe I've used that asks for it. I did brush the pretzels with melted butter after they were taken from the oven to give them an "Aunt Annies" taste and look. I will make these again. Thanks for the recipe.

Manicotti Alla Romana

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
I LOVED IT. This was the first time I've made stuffed manicotti and I'm glad that I chose this recipe. It had the spinach and cheese which I like and the meat that my husband and sons like. I had some stuffing mixture and pasta shells left over so I stuffed them and put them in the freezer. I added some mozzarella cheese that I had from a dinner event that I had some time ago and this was the topping on the cake. Even my chef brother inlaw loved this recipe. Thanks for the recipe and I WILL be making this again.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
I used this recipe to make a crust for my chicken pot pie. It was easy and I had everything listed on hand. My husband said that this was a "great tasting homemade" pie. I only gave this recipe four stars because at this time I'm on the Daniel fast and I can't have any bread. But I will be making this crust again. Thanks for the recipe.

Swedish Meatballs I

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
I made this for my family a couple of nights ago and they loved it. I was looking for something to do with the frozen meatballs that I had in my freezer and this was the perfect recipe to accompany them. The only thing that I did different was I added some beef bullion to the soup mixture to make it have more of a "beefy" taste to it. Thanks for sharing.

McCormick's BLT Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2008
I made this dip this past Saturday for my aunt. She was meeting with her friends and they loved this dip. I had enough to make a double portion but because of time I was unable to. They devoured this dip. It was set out with my mother in laws salsa dip and my dip was the first to go. Everyone asked for the recipe. I gave it to because it was soooooo simple. Thanks for the recipe.

One Dish Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
This was incredible. I made this last night with a few changes. But I won't post those changes because they were minor and I hate when people do that. Anywho my husband loved it. My teenage boys like it also. My husband ate the last piece [out of eight pieces] for lunch today. I will be making this again. Thanks for posting this simple yet tasteful recipe.

Spinach and Leek White Bean Soup

This soup was awesome. I made this last night and was floored when I tasted it. Even my husband, who doesn’t particularly like soup without meat, liked it. This recipe is a keeper. Thanks.

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
Love it. I did brown my onions because from all of the recipes I've read before says to brown the onions. Mine was a little sweet, I think because I used sweet onions. So I had to add about a 1/2 tablespoon of beef bullion to calm the sweetness. I didn't have any thyme so I added tarragon and it still tasted great. My husband agreed and I will be making this again. Thanks for a great recipe.
