Quiche Lorraine I

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
This was my first attempt at a quiche. GREAT flavor, but WAY too much cream for my taste causing it to be wetter than I like. Next time will try to about half the cream as I'm looking more like the quiche at La Madeleine. But thank you for the starting point!!

Fantastic! Loved the light creaminess the sour cream landed...something different that traditional ricotta.

Best Banana Bread recipe bar none! I mash the bananas though, and use 2 very large ones, or 3 small. Delish!!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
This is truly THE best rolled sugar cookie recipe I've yet to find. HOWEVER, it did take me a few attempts to perfect them. This is a very sticky dough for rolling so it's VITAL it be very cold ( I chill overnight). I make it exactly as written, I know some people add extra sugar, etc, but I find it is perfect to pair with a sweet frosting. Also be sure to use plenty of flour when rolling, use high quality metal cookie cutters, and roll them out THICK. Also I only bake at 350 degrees, 400 burns the bottoms. I find 8 minutes at 350 is perfect for 1/4" thick cookies. DO NOT overbake! As soon as the bottom are LIGHT brown they are done. I get amazing compliments on these cookies. I've been told over and over they are fancy bakery quality and I should open my own shop!

Massachusetts Straub Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
I really enjoyed the flavor of this chili! It was mild enough the kids enjoyed it, but not bland. I did omit the pepper due to family preference. I think this will be my "go-to" chili recipe!

Banana Bread Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
These were sooo addicting!! I did add 1 tsp of cinnamon as I love it in just about everything. I also skipped the icing. Great way to use up that last overripe banana!

Honey Oatmeal Bread I

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
I thought this recipe was fantastic. I did add a few heaping TBSP's of flax seed meal and some vital wheat gluten.. This seems to give me moister and fluffier loaves. Very happy with this recipe and will make again! Thanks!

No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
I was looking for something to kill an oaty, chocolatey, peanut buttery craving I was having that didn't include turning on the oven.. VIOLA! These were AWESOME! I only had margarine on hand, but I can imagine using butter would make them only that much better! Sinful!

Irresistible Double Chocolate Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
Lots of nutrition packed in these! I love them..but weren't a hit with the kiddos. I will definitely continue making them for myself however. I do wish the calorie count was a little lower..might try lowering the sugar content some in the future. Thanks for a great recipe!

Orange Drop Cookies IV

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
hmm..not what I was hoping for. They are indeed cakey..really cakey. Like a cupcake top. I guess I was hoping for something with a little more "substance" to it? The frosting had nice flavor though and I'd use that again on another cookie recipe. If you want something like a mini-cake then this would be for you.

Grocery Store Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
YUM! Great frosting! excellent flavor and texture! I think the only thing missing that might put it over the top and truly give it that "grocery store" flavor would be a pinch of almond extract and I plan on trying that next time. Can't wait to use this recipe on my Xmas cookies this year! Thanks!

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
Doesn't get any easier than this! and boy are they GOOOOOD. Chocolate is by far the best flavor to use as far as taste, although it works well with any flavor cake. I prefer this recipe using butter to the numerous ones I've seen using oil. I did add 1 tsp baking powder and it worked very well.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
Ok..I made this Sunday Morning..it was a total flop..only one that would touch it was my 3yr old who will eat ANYTHING with cinnamon. It just tasted...odd. So it sat in the cake pan for 2 days. 3 yr old asked for some today (tuesday)..couldn't give it to her without testing it myself first...and WOW was is WAAAAAYYYY better two days later!!! 5 stars better. But I had to give it a 3 star based on the fact you have to wait 2 days for it to get good.

OH MY! This is soooo good! I actually divided into 12 muffins cups and they came out perfect. I only used a TBSP of canola oil and replaced the rest of the oil w/ Applesauce. 5 stars!!
