Crazy Cake

this is the recipe I use every.single.time I bake a cake from scratch. I love it. It is kind of dense, but not heavy. Not like those super fluffy cakes that makes you want to eat 15 pieces of to satisfy your craving for chocolate cake. Thank you so much for the recipe! I would like to add something very important about this recipe: I would suggest letting it sit for a day to rest before you eat it. it is MUCH better on day 2 or 3. I make it as the recipe calls for to the "T", most of the time. sometimes I use whole wheat flour, and sometimes I use applesauce instead of oil, and I am never disappointed.

Molasses Cookies

I frequently get the urge to bake cookies and I have tried a ton of recipes from this site.. some good, some, ok. This recipe was fantastic! They were plenty spicy. it is just like a soft ginger snap. The only thing I did differently is that i added a small smidge of cinnamon to the sugar I rolled the dough in. Everything else was exactly the way it reads on the original recipe. I don't remember if I had made these before, or not, but all I know is I will make them again, for sure.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

i made these for Christmas and the recipe could not have been easier. seriously. It made an AWESOME tasting cookie, which was surprising, since there were so few ingredients. TIP: make sure the jam you use is really thick because it will ooze all over the cookie and they will be flat and crazy looking.. they were still good, though.

Banana Crumb Muffins

I am making this recipe for the second time in a WEEK but am doubling the recipe this time. My son wanted banana bread so i just picked the one with the best rating and made it..I totally understand why it rated so high. When I bake I use whole wheat flour (because its better for you, and I prefer the flavor) and always substitute non sweetened applesauce for the butter. It turned out wonderfully. I used a bunt pan because i didn't have a muffin tin, so I had to bake a bit longer. I just added the brown sugar (and added a handful of quick oats) cinnamon and a touch of brown sugar and butter on the bottom (inside)of the bunt pan and when i inverted it after it was baked it was all caramalized and wonderful. This will forever be my go-to banan bread recipe. Thank you so much!!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

I have never made homemade pancakes before. I just never thought to do it when the box of "just add water" was so easy. I wanted to make pancakes but i kept forgetting to get mix, so I thought i would look up a recipe here to see if I even had all the ingredients to make them. everyone in the world probably has all these ingredients in their kitchen all the time. lol. This simply doesn't get any easier, and they were awesome. I did add vanilla because i don't really like pancakes without it. NOTE: if you make these as soon as you roll out of bed DO NOT pour the hot melted butter over the raw egg.. you will have a scrambled egg. duh. I even knew (cut me some slack, i hadn't had any coffee, yet. lol)

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

OH MY GOSH!!! This is by far the best homemade cookie I have ever had. My boyfriend (who NEVER eats sweets)and my daughter fought over the last one! I highly suggest this one. Great base cookie to add whatever you want to turn it into something other than a "chocolate chip cookie". To die for! Will make these a lot!
