Awesome Ham Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2004
YUM! This is awesome! Loved it! Only changes I made were to omit the peppers and the onion b/c I don't eat them, and substitute dill pickles for the sweet ones. I also added a bit more garlic (garlic fiends here!), mixed in about 1/4 cup of Ranch, used 16oz of egg noodles b/c I don't know what ziti ones look like (LOL), and added some shredded cheddar! All in all, a super recipe to tweak and play with whenever you have some time on your hands!

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2003
Yummy!!! My first experience with making anything that included "active dry yeast" but they came out great! But you know, kneading dough sucks! It's hard work! lol Pretzels were kinda odd shaped, but they tasted great! Seasoned with salt, garlic and parmesan and dipped in warm marinara sauce. Also, mine tasted fine the next day. I just sealed them tight in a plastic zip bag thingy and reheated for like 10 mins at 300 degrees. Still good to me!

Pot Roast in Foil

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2003
This is probably the best pot roast I've had since my slow cooker disappeared on me! (don't ask, I lose everything!) I made it last night fot a late night supper and the hubby and I both loved it! I hate anything mushroom related, so I use one can cream of chicken and one can cream of broccolli. Odd coloring at first, but the taste was awesome. I also used the herb and garlic soup mix since I hate onions, too. I rubbed some cajun seasoning, garlic powder and black pepper onto the roast first and shoved some minced garlic (garlic fiends here) into the roast which REALLY enhanced the flavors. Also added about 5 cubed potatoes, which were just scrumptious! Wrapped it up tight (well, I thought it tight, did leak some) and baked my 3 pounder for about 3 hr and 15 mins. By then, the smell was too good to resist so I took it out (burned myself on HOT foil! duh!) and let it sit about 5 mins. Then couldn't hold hubby back any longer! lol We sliced it up and just devoured it! The roast was tender, the gravy to die for and the potatoes perfect! Thanks for the recipe; I'll use it again and again! :o)

Crispy Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2003
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I've tried (emphasis on "tried"!) to make fried chicken in the past and it's always come out all burned and crisped on the outside and still pink in the middle, then I'd try to fix it by nuking it, and ended up having it soggy and uncooked. But the tips and recipe were both perfect! All I did was add garlic (garlic fiends here) and paprika then followed recipe to a tee and received perfectly done fried chicken! Woohoo! It tasted awesome and looked super! Hubby and I loved it and chowed down big time! Yum!

Cheddar Ranch Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2003
One word: YUM! This was an awesome dip, a little thick, but very tasty. It has a cool mix of flavors and now I think I'm an idiot for never thinking of this myself! :)

Garlic Crab Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2003
I would've given this a 5, but the consistency of the dip wasn't what I was accustomed to when ordering in restaurants. Other wise, a super recipe, great taste. Used the Lipton's Herb and Garlic mix like others suggested and the taste was awesome! Next time, I'll probably blend it in a food processor. Well, when I finally GET a food processor, I will! lol :)

Bacon and Cheddar Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2003
One word: WOW! So good that the hubby didn't even want gravy for the first time ever! lol I did add a touch more milk but that was the only change I made. These were great the next day, also. Super recipe!

Texas Ranch Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2003
This was awesome! The hubby and I both loved it. I scaled it down to just 2 chicken boobies and seasoned it with garlic, pepper and johnny's seasoning salt before pouring on the ranch. Also added some cheddar for color and it came out perfectly divine! Yummy!

Restaurant-Style Potato Skins

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2003
Another winner! I had a bit of trouble with them not being crunchy enough, although I attribute that to operator error! LOL I'll deep fry them longer next time. Also, definitely brush them with butter before adding the other toppings; makes all the difference!

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2003
Oh, my golly! We were skeptical at first, but after the first bite, we were hooked! I did follow the advice of others and used less dressing (ranch) and instead used it as a dip. Also, used Frank's Buffalo sauce which made the chicken perfectly spicy. Super recipe!

Egg Rolls a la Paye

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2003
These are superb! We all loved them, although they were a little salty. Albeit, I did sautee the chicken in a soy sauce, teriyaki, lemon & garlic marinade. Overall, great!!!
