Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2011
Haven't tried, but going to. Only rated to ask question. The one thing missing is if a frozen or fresh/thawed pie crust was used. If you use either frozen or fresh does anyone flash bake their crust before adding pie filling? I think the Karo Syrup is making my frozen crust still soggy in the middle. I've tried adding 1-2 tablespoons of flour to make the Karo Syrup recipe I have firmer.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
This cake is slap yo' momma good. Ok, you may not slap her, but you will shake your finger at her (LOL). This is one of the best carrot cakes I've made. I made exactly per dircections, but added small can of crushed pineapple with a little juice. Cake came out moist. I also did a bourbon cream cheese frosting. Delicious!

Texas Glazed Pecans

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
I looked for this recipe after paying $8 for a 1/4 lb of these sold as gourmet nuts. I can't ever resist recreating a recipe. I had all the ingredients on hand (I'm from Texas and pecans are a staple in one's home), so I made these this weekend and people couldn't stop eating. I followed the direction with no changes. So, for about $6 we enjoyed a 1 lb of these delicious nuts. Thanks for sharing this recipe. It's a keeper

Magic Lemon Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2010
This is keeper. Everyone raved about it. Reminded me of a key lime pie. The only thing I did different was used a flaky pie crust that I baked for about 20 minutes. Poured the filling in the cooled baked crust. I covered the edges of the pie crust (you can use a pie shield or foil) while the pie baked for about an additional 20 minutes to set the filling. Yummy!

Strawberry Fruit Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2010
I always get compliments with this recipe. I even use low-fat strawberry cream cheese. You can't tell the difference. Sometimes I do add a little strawberry instant jello to give it more strawberry flavor. Never a drop left.

Ultimate Party Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
Don't let the ingredients fool you. I made this for Christmas and not a meatball was left. Even the 4 and 5 year old's kept asking for more. I did make one change. I added about a tablespoon of brown sugar. This really helped balance out the chili sauce.

Mocha Coffee

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
Sorry, but this is nothing like Starbucks Cafe Mocha which I drink everyday. I taste like coffee with chocolate. Nothing special.

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
Got lots of compliments, but a bit bland for my taste. Very juicy. Next time I will add a little more horseradish and salt and add wors. sauce.

Creamy Lemon Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
I've made this cake twice in the last two weeks and get rave reviews. Until now, I wasn't much of a lemon cake fan because I thought they weren't moist. Well, this is one of the moistest cakes I've had and it's way too easy to make. The only thing I did different was I used canned whipped frosting instead of the recipe here. It was just as good. However, you do have to keep this cake refrigerated because of the frosting. Otherwise, it'll run. Next time, I will add a little lemon to the frosting to give it a lemon flavor.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2005
I gave this recipe a three because the dumplings just didn't come out right. I've used refrigerated biscuits to make dumplings before and they turned out fine, but that was on the stove. Like many others, the biscuits were soggy and turned brown in the middle and the chicken had a buttermile biscuit taste. We just scooped out the dumplings and ate the chicken with rice.

Apple Delight

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2004
This was vwry easy and very good. It was a huge hit, but did have some comments that it was too sweet. Definately needed more butter. Before adding the cake mix, I added cinammon and walnuts to the apples and it gave this recipes some added flavor. Will definately make it again.
