Bermuda Spinach Salad

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
This salad was terrific! However, I forgot to add the sugar to the dressing and I'm so happy that I forgot. I think it would have been way too sweet with it. Also, didn't have mushrooms so I added English cucumbers and tomatoes and used a Spanish Sweet Onion. I will 100% make this again!!! Everyone LOVED IT!

Berry Trifle

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
This recipe is always a huge hit. One word of advice...after you put the 1st layer of cake and berries down, pour half the "pudding" mixture over top, then finish with another layer and pour the rest of the pudding mixture. The mixture is too thick to reach the bottom layer if you only pour over the top.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2006
Pretty much the best chili that I've ever tasted. I used real bacon instead of bacon bits. Other than that...it's AWESOME!!!!! SO MUCH FLAVOR!!!

California Salad Bowl

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2006
People go crazy for this salad! I love it! I've made it for parties and baby showers, etc. It's been a huge hit every single time! I'm not the biggest fan of green olives, so I sometimes add sliced black olives instead....but that's the only thing I would change. It's perfect in every other way!

Sausages in Onion Gravy

Reviewed: May 22, 2005
My husband loved this recipe. I put it over wild rice, but I think I will try the biscuits next time. The one thing that I did add to this was a splash of Sherry and it was a huge hit. The Sherry goes so well with the onions and sausage...it really compliments the flavors.

Au Gratin Potatoes II

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2003
This is a wonderful recipe. However, to save some time, use the frozen hash-brown potatoes instead (trust me, you won't be able to tell the difference). Also, for added flavor, use half can Cream of Celery and half cream of chicken. I have made it for several occasions and people have actually told me that they were craving them after they left.

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2003
Spaghetti Carbonara has been my favorite dish since I was a little girl. But just like everyone else I have my own twist. Just as a suggestion; to add a surprising kick to this dish, toast a large handful or two of pine nuts and mix them into the pasta at the end. If you've never worked with pine nuts before, be careful, they cook extremely fast!
