Amy's Garlic Egg Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2003
This recipe ROCKS! Make it tonight! I didn't change a thing, & it was perfect. I thought it called for a bit too much garlic between the cloves & the powder, but I gave Amy the benefit of the doubt & she was right on the nose. It wasn't over bearing at all. The chicken was tender, juicy & loaded with flavor... and it was SO easy to prepare. I served it with a side of pasta primavera, & it was a hit. Thanks so much, Amy. This one is definitely a keeper!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2003
This recipe ROCKS! Definitely top 10. I make it at least twice a month & everyone loves it. I've passed the recipe on to quite a few people as well, and they love it! I only make a couple of minor changes, it's excellent as is.... but I add some jalapenos to turn up the heat & I also use a jar of salsa instead of taco sauce. I use refried beans with chiles, and I season my beef with 1 envelope of taco seasoning, but I dont add water. Thanks for a great dinner, and thanks for all the compliments!

Slovak Stuffed Cabbage

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2003
This recipe is really very good. My husband loved them, so did my neighbors, and so did I. I changed very little. The only thing I changed was the amount of water I used to fill, I kept & used the liquid from the diced tomatoes so I only used 1 cup of water to fill, (and i used the water I cooked the cabbage in) and quite frankly next time, I'll leave it out completely, you dont really need it - especially if you like a thicker sauce. I also used a little extra brown rice. I cooked them for 2 hours. However there were 2 things I was confused about... 1. should you cook the bacon first? I didnt. 2. should you cover before cooking? i did. In any case, thanks Kelly for a great recipe. It's a no brainer, & it isnt THAT time consuming. My husbands Mom is Slovak & makes the best cabbage rolls I've ever had, these are a very close second. I'll be making them again, this ones a keeper. Thanks again. =)

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2003
These were not 'great', but they were good. Next time I may try less vinegar, as it was just a bit too much for my taste. The other half loved it, and I liked it. I just wasn't blown away by it. It just seemed to be missing something, & I followed the measurments exactly. The best part of this recipe is the simplicity of it. Good dinner, thanks Corwynn.

Very easy, and good, but not great. Hubby enjoyed them more than i did. Melted provolone cheese on top is a must.

Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2003
Good recipe after a bit of tweaking. I blanched my peppers for about 4 minutes first, and sprinkled a bit of salt into them. Also, I added a lot more seasoning to the meat mixture and used half ground beef half ground sausage. I stuffed the bottom of each pepper with cheese, & melted some on top after they were done cooking. I also doubled the sauce. Thanks Bonnie, I'll be making these again.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2004
It amazes me how people put recipes down on this site after stating how they have changed it or obviously screwed it up. Follow the recipe, people! Pay attention to the details. This dish is very good. I rarely give 5 stars, so take no offense to that. This is a very good, easy to prepare meal. My husband & nephew both loved it. I will make it again. A lot. Changes? I made only 2 minor ones, one by choice. Those being I doubled the sauce, and in doing so I realized I only had 1 packet of italian dressing. So I only used one. It didn't matter. It was still excellent. Great tasting comfort food. Thanks Marian. This one is a keeper.

Excellent. I doubled the recipe. Morn corn starch was definitely needed. I also added fresh garlic. Next time I'll throw in some mushrooms and red wine. Good stuff! Thanks for a keeper!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2004
Excellent. Using 3 large chicken breasts, I doubled the cajun seasoning, grated cheese, and lemon pepper. I used 4 green onions and a whole red pepper, not half. I used a whole box of angel hair instead of linguini, and increased the heavy cream to 2 cups. I sauteed all the seasonings along with some fresh garlic right in with the chicken, and added the grated cheese in with the heavy cream. All other measurments I left as stated. Very good recipe. It's a keeper.

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2004
I've made this a few times. I made it for 2 separate Thanksgiving dinners, everyone raved. Simple, and yummy. I add a small container of sour cream, and use seasoned salt, pepper, garlic salt & broccoli florets. I also top the casserole with more of the shredded cheddar & crushed crackers. Another keeper. Thanks Stacy. =)

I have to say I wasn't expecting much out of this recipe. I am pleased to say I stand corrected. It was easy, fast & tasty. I skipped the mozarella & used swiss on half & cheddar on the other half of the links. The swiss was better liked by all. Well done, Theresa.
