Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2014
Not just for turkey! About twice a year hubby & I brine turkey, chicken, game hen, duck, etc. During the brine we get our rubs, marinades & sauces together. Then off to the grill, smoker, fryer or oven they go. Once done they get prepped for use in different dishes, bbq, mexican, italian, salads, yada yada. Vac sealed & frozen makes dinner time faster & easier.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2014
Easy & very tasty. I think I stayed true to the spirit of the recipe but needed a double batch & had to work with what i had. 2#browned hamburger, 1 can golden mushroom, 1 can cream of mushroom, whole onion diced, sliced fresh mushrooms (b/c we like them), worchestershire, H2O, 6 oz cream cheese, I saved some for the mashed spuds this was going over. About 9 hours later we fested. We almost made ourselves sick it was so good. So much for haveing a freezer meal too, this stuff was gone in about 24 hours, 2 people ate it all & we usually don't eat that much. Cook this recipe as is or it's also tweekable ( my fav kind). but try it. Happy cooking!

BBQ Nachos

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
I created my own recipe & it's always a hit. The meat is usually leftovers from the smoker or beer butt chicken, chopped or shredded & put on the chips. I also line pan w/ foil to cut clean-up. Next is drizzels of BBQ sauce, cheese, diced onion, jalapenos & other "nacho" items. Put in preheated oven 350-375 until cheese is melted. Put on platter, foil & all, & put spoonfulls of sour cream, guacamole, etc, around edges & let everyone dig in. Perfect with football game & cold beer!

Dirty Bedtime Story

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
Dad & I've made these and variations of for years. Blended w/ ice in summer & warmed in winter, tasty either way. For a real kick add some spiced rum! 2 shots of liqueur per drink is a bit wimpy for us.

Party Mimosa

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
This turned out great, despite using very cheap, sparkling wine, & changing apricot-mango to plain apricot, & pineapple to guava. Added ice and plain OJ. Fixed in blender enough for 2 servings. I'm drinking now while working on some x-mas snacks & it is very tasty. Great recipe!

Scott Ure's Clams And Garlic

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
This is outstanding! The first "real live" clam recipe I ever prepared. When I made this I made 2 batches, 1 w/ live clams and 1 w/ canned because I just wasn't sure about the real clams. I had made both red and white clam sauce w/ canned before that was very good. This recipe ruined me on canned clams. The fresh was so tasty that the canned wasn't eaten. Yummy! we make this every time fresh clams are available. Thank you Scott!

Kitty Litter Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
This is one of my fav Halloween recipes. "Cat Box Cake" has been made for many parties and is always a hit. It looks so real that some people couldn't eat it, others (like me) picked out the Tootsie Rolls and snacked on them. My husband and I have had way too much fun shapeing those Tootsie Rolls & draping them over the side of the litter box, is a very disgusting touch! Have fun and enjoy!!!

Cream Cheese Pickles

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
These are fab! A few tips to make them easier: smear softened cream cheese on the meat (intead of pickle), place wrapped pickles back in fridge for about an hour and then cut. Use a variety of meats, pickles, and cheeses. Sweet pickle with a turkey wrap is tasty. Have fun & play with your food!

Quick Sunshine Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2004
I did an ingrediant search and found this cake. The frosting didn't get made (lacked the CoolWhip), but I had leftover pineapple from a baked ham. I added some of the pineapple to the cake mix (about 1/4 cup). This is sooo yummy!!! Husband loved it, coworkers raved. Must make this again. With the frosting I bet it is suberb.

Impossible Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2004
Me and Hubby LOVE this, we are eating it for breakfast. The filling is soo good that it doesn't need a crust. Last year I baked leftover pumpkin filling in a ramikin and Father in law said that he liked it better that way. I'll be making this recipe for him!

Sausage Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2003
Made these for New Year's and they kicked butt!!! I did need an extra pack of bacon and they were a touch greasy. Next time I will use a rack or some crumpled foil. Also I cooked them longer than the recipe stated. YUMMY!! Everyone wants the recipe.
