Brandied Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2002
This recipe was awesome!! I only had 1/3 cup of brandy and it still turned out great! Nice change from the marshmallow topped casserole. Even if you don't like sweet potatoes, you'll like this! I served with a thick cut center ham slice and brussel sprouts...it was really good. Thanks! Erin

20 STARS!!!!!!! This recipe was the best! Just like the chicken at the restaurant. SO EASY and SO GOOD!!!!! I think sliced scallions on top would be even better! I did use bottled honey mustard sauce to save time and ingredients. Absolutely awesome!! Thanks! Erin

This was really good...I used one 16-oz. package of cauliflower and the same size package of broccoli florets. I think I used more cheese too, because we love Swiss cheese. It turned out awesome! Thanks!!! Erin

Mexican Layered Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2003
AWESOME!!!! I made this on New Year's Eve and it was excellent! I didn't use taco seasoning though, because I don't like the taste of it. Instead, I left out the tomatoes and just added salsa on top of the beans. I used two avocados, mashed them with lemon juice and had no browning problem. Even the next day we finished it up and still no browning of the avocado. Oh, I also added diced jalapenos on top of the olives. This was so good! Thanks!!! Erin

This a response to Leanne's review...the sauce that you "submitted" was excellent. Tasted just like the sauce at T.G.I.Fridays. Thanks! Erin

Suki's Spinach and Feta Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
Very tasty...the first time I made it I added shrimp...was awesome. The second time I made it, I didn't add the shrimp but added artichokes instead. Both times were very good, but it was better with the shrimp. I also used 4 cups of spinach because we love it and it cooks down alot. Also, the first time I used canned tomatoes and we thought that tasted better than it did the second time when I used fresh.

This was awesome! I did add sauteed mushrooms but, everything else I followed to the letter. This quiche was sooooooo good. Next time, I'll make two of them. Who'da thought the evaporated milk could replace heavy cream?... Not me! This was delicious! Thanks! Erin

Vienna Schnitzel

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
One of the best recipes I've ever made from this site. Was absolutely fabulous. If I could, I'd give it a trillion stars. Lemon juice over the finished product is the key. Served with red cabbage and mashed potatoes...AWESOME!!!

Greek Saganaki

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2004
I live in a very large Greek community. We enjoy Saganaki often but, this recipe is different. We use a Greek cheese called Kasseri which is a harder cheese than Feta. We follow this recipe almost...at the end of frying time, we pour one ounce of liquor over the fried cheese ( 151 rum ), then light it on fire, the put out the flame by squeezing lemon juice over it....OPA!!! It's awesome...try it this way sometime!

Orange Pork

Reviewed: May 11, 2004
Ohmigosh!! This was really good! Of course, I used some of the suggestions of other reviewers. I almost never make a recipe as written. I dredged my thin chops in flour, browned in olive oil and removed to a plate. Then, in the oil in the pan, I sauteed two minced garlic cloves and green onions (6) sliced on the diagonal. Used brown sugar instead of white. Before adding cornstarch mixture, I shredded one whole carrot into sauce mixture. After thickening the sauce, I added one 6-ounce can of mandarin oranges and returned pork to pan. Oh, by the way, I mixed cornstarch with the juice from mandarin orange can instead of water. I doubled the sauce ingredients except the soy sauce. Served over white rice and passed crushed red pepper at the table. This was awesome! Can't wait to try it with chicken!

Golden Rum Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
I made this cake yesterday, as written, with the exception that I used sliced almonds instead of walnuts. It was sooooo good!!! Today I made another one and used coconut pudding instead of vanilla, used pineapple juice instead of water in the cake and glaze and I put pineapples and shredded coconut in bottom of the pan along with the almonds, then poured the batter over it. The first time I ever "ate" a pina colada!! And it was awesome!! Thanks for the recipe. This will be made over and over again with many different variations. Someone else mentioned using chocolate cake and chocolate pudding and using Kahlua for the liquor...I think I'll try that one next!

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2003
These were awesome! I've made them 3 times. The first and third time I made them with Sweet Baby Ray's bbq sauce. Just great!!! The second time I added a rub and the same sauce...weren't as good, but they were still pretty good. Seemed drier the second time. Overall, fall off the bone tender...awesome ribs. Give 'em a try!

Chicken and Dumplings III

The BEST!!! And very easy. I tore off little pieces of the biscuits and threw them in the broth/soup. It was so awesome! My son was like, "Ma, where's the chicken and dumplings from last night?" I told him, "In your belly, it's gone, honey." Will make double next time! Thanks! Erin
