Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2001
Excellent recipe...so simple and so satisfying. Green beans are my favorite, so I love 'em just about any way, but...these were awesome! Couldn't keep my fingers out of the pan while they were cooking! I used shredded parmesean instead of grated because that's what I had on hand. Turned out great! Thanks!

Baked Fish with Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2001
This was good. I used cod because it was on sale (besides, it's my favorite). Tasty, yet sort of bland. I added 4 Tbsp. of sherry to the sauce and sprinkled the fish with garlic powder, onion powder and course ground pepper. Next time, I will use a stronger flavored fish such as, grouper, which was suggested in the original recipe.

Fried Plantains

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2001
I've made these for years and years. My sons love them with crumbled feta cheese on the slices for a salty flavor. Or sprinkle with cinnamon sugar for a sweet flavor...both ways are awesome!

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2002
OH MY GOSH!!! This is sooooo good! I added a little extra wine and a little extra oil and used sun-dried tomatoes instead of fresh and let me tell ya...mm, mm, GOOD! I served with Garlic Green Beans (from this site) and this was a wonderful meal! I LOVE feta cheese and this recipe satisfied my craving...this night. Can't wait til next time! I will make this again and again and again....

Baked Stuffed Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2002
These did not turn out well for me. The shrimp curled up and the stuffing went all over. I'm sure I did something wrong, but I don't know what. Maybe I'll try again in the future.

King Crab Appetizers

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2002
These were really good. I used fresh crabmeat and I also used the phyllo cups which made this a very easy recipe. My brood loves lemon so I squeezed fresh lemon juice over the tarts after they were done baking. Very good recipe, thanks for sharing.

Spicy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2002
We all really loved this recipe. I left out the zest and doubled the marmalade. I also added green onions and sugar snap peas and served it over white rice...it was delicious! I also printed out the recipe and gave it to my grandmother (she's an awesome cook) and her whole household loved it as well. Thanks!

Romantic Chicken with Artichokes and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2002
This recipe was awesome! I used legs and thighs instead of breasts. I added garlic and herbs de provence as suggested in earlier reviews. I did remove the chicken from the pan at the end of cooking and added cornstarch to thicken the juices, then returned the chicken to the pan. It turned out great!!! I served it over buttered noodles with sauteed spinach on the side. My boyfriend and I both love artichokes and mushrooms...and it was very romantic...he was lovin' on me all night after that dinner, even before, because the aroma while it was cooking was so heavenly. Thanks so much. This recipe was awesome

Fra Diavolo Sauce With Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2002
I've made this 3 or 4 times in the past couple months and it is just the greatest! I also added mussels to mine and this recipe is just so awesome! I also added a little red wine...to die for! My son who goes to college about 4 hours away called me up one day and said, "Mom, I'm coming up tomorrow for the weekend...PLEASE make that spicy mussel stuff!" Of course, he was referring to this recipe. We all loved it! Thanks

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2002
This was great! I made this exactly as written. Then I toasted the sesame seed rolls, added Swiss cheese and they were excellent. The au jus is perfect. I served the sandwiches with Greek Orzo Salad, also on this site. Everything was awesome. Thanks! Erin

Pepperoncini Beef

This was really, really good. The peppers give the beef great flavor. We used provolone cheese on toasted rolls then added the shredded beef and peppers. It was great! Thanks! Erin

20 STARS!!!!!!! This recipe was the best! Just like the chicken at the restaurant. SO EASY and SO GOOD!!!!! I think sliced scallions on top would be even better! I did use bottled honey mustard sauce to save time and ingredients. Absolutely awesome!! Thanks! Erin

Chocolate Delight

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2002
I'm not a big chocolate fan but everyone else in my household is. Everyone thought it was really good...even me. It doesn't keep well, though, so be prepared to eat it all...and it makes alot. I used Bailey's Irish Creme instead of Kahlua because that's what I had in the house. Very good dessert. Thanks! Erin

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2002
The BEST!!! And very easy. I tore off little pieces of the biscuits and threw them in the broth/soup. It was so awesome! My son was like, "Ma, where's the chicken and dumplings from last night?" I told him, "In your belly, it's gone, honey." Will make double next time! Thanks! Erin

Souvlaki

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2002
This was excellent! I live 10 minutes away from Tarpon Springs, Florida, where the Epiphany is celebrated every January. Very large Greek community. We eat at Greek restaurants all the time. This was very close, if not as good as the souvlaki we get eating out. More effort but, less expensive to feed my brood. Please try this recipe...it is awesome. Thanks! Erin

Fruity Ham Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2002
This recipe was very tasty. I think it was more of a sauce than a glaze, though. Which was fine with us. We had a thick cut center ham slice and I followed the directions on the ham package for the time and temp to bake the ham. The last 15 minutes of baking time, I added the "glaze" to the top of the ham, baked for the remaining time and the "glaze" hadn't "glazed". I then upped the temp and baked 15 minutes longer. It still was saucy on top. I halved the recipe and there was still at least a cup of sauce/glaze left. We just dipped our ham in it as a side sauce. The flavor was really good, just not what I expected. This sauce would be really good for dipping Chinese eggrolls in. Thanks! Erin

Brandied Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2002
This recipe was awesome!! I only had 1/3 cup of brandy and it still turned out great! Nice change from the marshmallow topped casserole. Even if you don't like sweet potatoes, you'll like this! I served with a thick cut center ham slice and brussel sprouts...it was really good. Thanks! Erin

Greek Orzo Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2002
I made this recipe with some changes. I added garbanzo beans and green onions and chopped up the artichokes. Also, instead of using the drained marinade, I added some KRAFT Greek Vinaigrette Dressing that was in the fridge. This turned out really good! I wasn't sure if my son liked artichokes or not, that's why I cut them up. My boyfriend and I love them so I couldn't omit them...the boy would have to suffer! Turns out, everyone loved the salad...and, the kid likes artichokes! My son's girlfriend was over the day after and had some and she loved it, too. I also used gemelli pasta instead of the orzo...it was awesome!! Thanks! Erin
