Best Brownies

Awesome homemade brownies! This is a great standard brownie base. The KEY is to NOT over bake. 25 mins is way too much. I would shoot for 15 mins. and keep an eye of it. I pulled mine out at 20 mins and it was almost over baked. I used valrhona chocolate cocoa, valrhona chocolate pieces and a big handful of pecans. Delish! I used a wonderful chocolate frosting I found on this site with valrhona chocolate cocoa as well. I thinned out the frosting too. This will be my go to brownie recipe. As far as texture. This is a true brownie, not cakey nor like a block of fudge. Give it a shot! Thanks!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Fantastic! I added a splash extra of chicken stock and milk each. I made pre-marinated jerk chicken from Whole Foods and cubed. Steamed all organic frozen peas, carrots and cubed squash with a little water. Cooked onions in butter first and then threw in celery.Seasoned with Herb de Provence, thyme, pepper, celery seed, yellow curry, nutmeg, garlic powder and salt to taste. I used organic whole wheat pie crusts. Delish!! Moist, flavorful, elegant, homey, best comfort food!! Do try it out !!!up the seasoning, more onions, liquids a tad, and have fun!!

Dixie Pork Chops

Wonderful recipe. I took reviewer's advise, sage, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, chicken stock and onions. The pork chops had a beautiful sear and were very juicy. I paired the pork chops with oven roasted sweet potatoes seasoned in garlic, rosemary, olive oil, salt and pepper. My boyfriend and I loved it.

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

Great recipes! Next time I will add more onions and a chile. The recipe says a dash of salt but I used more like a tablespoon. That will keep it from being bland. Also used Fage Greek plain yogurt to cut out some of the fat of sour cream. Thanks!

Chef John's Caramel Apple Pie

The pie is simple and tasty. You get a really crunchy, buttery crust that's delicious! I did follow reviewer's suggestion of adding 3 tbsp. of cornstarch to the apples and generous squeeze of fresh lemon juice. I used almost the whole lemon. I also used 2 galas and 2 Granny Smiths. Next time I will add cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg to the apples. 4 stars because it is really good but cornstarch does need to added or you'll have a runny pie. Recommend!!
