I am a Junior High student who wants to work with plants when he grows up. I take the culinary arts enrichment class at school with one of my favorite teachers:) I also work in our school garden, where we get many of our ingredients. Currently however, I have a dilemma: we have a HUGE excess of mint from the garden and we have idea what to do with it. Any recipe recommendations would be helpful! Yes, I did get the dehydrator and have so far dried mint and chives, which dried very well. I am glad to be here in the AllRecipes community!
My favorite things to cook
As you can guess, I love herbs of all kinds! I love using them so much that I actually want a food dehydrator for my birthday;) Hopefully I can review it for everybody! The mint plants I currently grow are chocolate mint and lemon mint. I also grow German and Roman Chamomile, chives and strawberries. I am hoping to start an herb garden in pots next year with herbs like rosemary, lemon balm, lavender and curled parsley. I'm glad to be here on allrecipes and I hope I can learn from you guys and help you too.
Nice to meet you!
My cooking tragedies
One time I accidentally put some aluminum foil in the microwave. It was not pretty! It looked like a roman candle went off inside the microwave and there are still scorch marks in the microwave to this day. No, do NOT do it! At least I always put the top on the blender...
