Baklava

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2006
I made this for my bf's birthday and this recipe is AWESOME! It is very, very easy. This was my first time making baklava, and also my first time working with phyllo. I was nervous because I read some horror stories about how hard it was and one recipe I read said they recommended not even attempting it, just buy it. But I'm stubborn and no matter what anybody said I was making it :) . My bf and I did it together and it came out wonderful. This Baklava is not for someone who likes it very sweet, like me, but I was told I have a sweet tooth that could kill an elephant. Everybody loved it and they loved that it wasn't as sweet. My sauce for the top was about the consistency of water, maybe a little thicker. I don't know if it was supposed to be thicker or what so that had me nervous. Anyway it is great! Thanks for a wonderful recipe!!!

I have had way better. The cream cheese layer wasn't really a good layer. won't make this pie again. I made it for my boyfriend's mom's birthday and she loved it. But I have made better.

Alfredo Blue

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2004
I am not a fan of blue cheese at all. My boyfriend found this recipe and begged me to make it. I did and he abolutely loved it. I did try some- it was excellent. But I really, really don't like blue cheese. I couldn't even be around him when he was eating it because it smelled sooooo good. Definely a keeper!!

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2004
I quadrupled this recipes for a graduation party. I followed other peoples recommendations of using half sour cream and half mayo. Next time I make it I think I will use only 1/4 sour cream and the rest mayo. I thought the taste of sour cream was a little strong but everybody LOVED it. Will definetly make again!

THis meatloaf was excellent. Instead of using pineapple preserves, I used crushed pineapple (as a request of my boyfriend). It was excellent.

Fresh Salsa II

Reviewed: May 9, 2003
Salsa was good. I used lime juice instead of lemon. Didn't have cilantro so I used nothing but I think it would have made it better. It was good though. THanks!
