I made this for my bf's birthday and this recipe is AWESOME! It is very, very easy. This was my first time making baklava, and also my first time working with phyllo. I was nervous because I read some horror stories about how hard it was and one recipe I read said they recommended not even attempting it, just buy it. But I'm stubborn and no matter what anybody said I was making it :) . My bf and I did it together and it came out wonderful. This Baklava is not for someone who likes it very sweet, like me, but I was told I have a sweet tooth that could kill an elephant. Everybody loved it and they loved that it wasn't as sweet.
My sauce for the top was about the consistency of water, maybe a little thicker. I don't know if it was supposed to be thicker or what so that had me nervous. Anyway it is great! Thanks for a wonderful recipe!!!
