Lentil Soup with Lemon

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2014
This is my first time making lentil soup and it came out great! I used veggie broth and use tomato sauce instead of paste. I also omitted the extra olive oil, cilantro and chili powder at the end. I will definitely make again.

Maryland Crab Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2013
This is a great base recipe. I did what others suggested by adding 1 tbsp of worchestire sauce, 1/4 cup brown sugar and 3 tbsp of old bay. However, I ranked it as 4 stars because it seems like it's lacking something and I can't figure out. Very tasty nonetheless!! Will make again.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

These came out pretty good!! I didn't see anything wrong with the recipe, but you need a strong arm to mix the final ingredients. Will definitely make again.

Sweet Potato Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2013
These came out great (as I finish my second)!! I followed other's suggestions such as using 4 tsp of brown sugar (I'll use 5 next time), not even 1/2 tsp of salt, just a pinch, 4 tsp of baking powder and 3 tbsp of butter. You won't really even need a 1/4 cup of milk. Pour slowly and a little at a time so that it doesn't become soupy. These came out fluffy and light. LOVE them!! Next time I'll add raisins, but not the extra tsp of brown sugar so they won't be overly sweet.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2013
As usual I love this recipe as a great base recipe for a delicious spinach quiche. The first time I followed the directions and it came out a bit oily (too much butter) and I had approximately half of the egg mixture left over. It was delish nonetheless!! So now my second time making it, as my boyfriend LOVED it so much last time, I've made a few changes. I used fresh mushrooms, add in marinated artichokes and used 3 eggs and 1/2 cup of milk. I still had a little of the egg mixture left over, so the next time I make it I'll try using 2 eggs and 1/4-1/2 cup of milk.

Cream of Cauliflower Soup I

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2013
This an amazing base for a great cream of cauliflower!! I like a thicker, creamier consistency. So my first try I only added 4 cups of veggie stock, half an onion, a few pinches of salt and garlic salt, and 1 1/2 cups of swiss cheese as I had a medium/small head of cauliflower. Next time I'll adjust the amount of veggie stock to the size/amount of cauliflower and add fresh garlic instead. Otherwise a very yummy cream of cauliflower soup!! Will definitely be a fall/winter staple. The swiss cheese definitely added a nice touch.

Easy Vegetable Pot Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
This was my first time making a pot pie and it came out delicious!! I ate almost half the pie myself. I changed somethings. I used fresh broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and mushrooms and canned peas. I also used 2 cans of cream of potato soup and 1 cup of almond (unsweetened) almond milk. I steamed my veggies first and sauteed them with an onion and 1 1/2 tbs of minced garlic. I also added some garlic salt. I had enough filling for two pies, at the rate I'm going will be gone soon. I love this recipe as it's a great base recipe for any pot pie. You can play around with cream of corn, mushroom and potato soups and add in any veggies you want.

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
This was my first time making veggie chili and it came out great! I used a slightly bigger size can of baked beans since that's what I had on hand, a can of crushed tomatoes, and no celery. It was very good, but a tad bit sweet so it can also be served as jazzed up baked beans in the summer and chili in fall/winter depending on the sweetness/spiciness. I added a few shakes of red pepper flakes to kick it up a bit. I also served this with vegan hush puppies which were also sweet, so next time I'll add a little more heat to the chili so they compliment each other. Definitely a staple and will make again!!
