Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese with Broccoli

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2012
No fuss, that's the way I like it. Really minimum prep work. Place ingredients in crock pot, check on occasionally and it will get ready for you. I used fresh broccoli microwaved al-dente. My crock pot runs hot so at 2 hr 30 min the pasta was done. Let run on warm another 15 minutes. It will be a regular potluck dish I bring to church. Everyone loves macaroni and cheese!

Fresh Blueberry Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2012
Very nice old fashion type recipe. I added a crumb topping to the top. I used fresh picked blueberries and ate it warm with whipped topping. Fairly moist cake which has lasted into the next day nicely. Def. recommend the 8x8 pan as in the directions.

Romantic Lemon Cheesecake Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
I really enjoyed these. I thought they were light and tasted delectable. I tried as recipe calls and adding some zest as reviewer suggested. Adding zest changed the flavor only somewhat. Silver dollar size from googling is 1.75" or approx. a good teaspoon. I had griddle at 325 degrees and thought it was appropriate. I am going to make lots of these for Easter Sunrise Service Potluck Breakfast.

Chicken Ferocious

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
I love finding recipes when I have all the ingredients in the house. Very easy, step by step to make, and everyone really liked it. I used an electric frying pan and used broccoli instead of peas.

Marinated Fajita Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
The chicken had a nice flavor of lime, not too overpowering. I might put a few more spices in it the next time. I grilled instead and did not shred the chicken I just sliced it. So with some avocado, sour cream, salsa, peppers and onions all was a nice combination. I like having a fresh marinade recipe that is easy to make instead of buying something with preservatives, thanks recipe group.

Homemade Dishwasher Soap

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
If you have well water I don't suggest this. Borax has phosphorus in it and when it comes in contact with cool water, immediatly clumps and blocks sewer pipes.

World's Best Oreo® Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2012
Finally made this delcious recipe. The white fudge tastes like the middle of an oreo and to have the oreo pieces on the top just adds to the wonderful taste. I used a medium high heat and when it came to boil the candy thermometer was at fudge setting at just over the 3 min. mark. Will def. make again.

Sweet Potato Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
Nice tasting chili. Easy to prepare. No substitutions or omissions. It is somewhat thin or has juice so if you like a thicker chili than I would suggest omitting water or have enough bread as a side. This def. needs the time to soften up the potatoes so plan ahead. If I have extra sw. potatoes around I would make this again.

Buttermilk Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: May 24, 2012
Recipe Group 5/19/12. The buttermilk gave a normal biscuit some moistness. And added a little more flavor. The turbinado sugar was a great bonus. I enjoyed those bites. Shortcake was done at 15 min to a light brown. I stored shortcake in plastic baggie and they stayed moist and tasted better the 2nd day. Made single dishes one day with chocolate sauce on bottom (yum)and a small platter for 4 the next. Great classic recipe.

French Toast I

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
Basic french toast. Wether your beginning to cook or an expert you will be loved for this. Happy to see a basic recipe on AR. I did a plain picture so a beginner can see what a done piece looks like. The secret to FT is cook on medium heat--dont rush it. It needs to cook all the way through.

Cinnamon Roll Coffee Cakes

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
I did it! I made something with yeast. Thank you recipe group for giving me the courage. After the initial 3 cups I added 2.5 cups more to make it pull away from the bowl. And of course more on kneading area as I went along. I would double the filling next time. I took the 4th log and made a mixture of brown sugar, butter, pecans, cinnamon and then sprinkled fresh frozen blueberries and rolled up into crescent shape. Just lovely. I also froze a baked one and froze a ring to rise and bake at another time.

Corned Beef and Cabbage I

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
Fool proof directions for a moist Corned Beef. I actually put together my own spices as my CB didn't come with a packet. Pickling spices work great. I left out potatoes because my hubby and I are doing lo-carb.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
Truly the best roll out dough. I used a elec. beater to mix the ingred. slowly together. Put in fridge for almost 2 hr, took advice and kneaded slightly before rolling. Did have to occass. put some conf. sugar on rolling pin. Used the parchment paper idea from other reviewers and transfered some. The trick to transfering to me is to just lift up one corner of any cut cookie dough and lift up and move over. Cooled before frosting with sugar cookie icing and glaze. Fun. A forever keep.

Hot German Potato Salad Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2012
Made for Recipe Group 10/13/12. I would suggest cooking the celery mixture a little longer on low. I did not like the little crunch while eating the finished product. It made for a lot of dirty dishes. This did have alot of flavor because of the sauce.

Meatloaf...a Little Southwest Style

Reviewed: May 24, 2012
My husband eats and loves his meatloaves. He said this might have been the best one I ever made. I agree it was a tad crumbly but the taste of the salsa veggies with the onions he said was a nice touch.

Grilled Fruit Kabobs

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
I did 8 skewers exactly as recipe calls for. The plum and strawberries softened up too much. Then I did skewers that had champagne mangos and pineapples with peach, banana and bigger strawberries. All fruit tasted wonderful, not too sweet at all. I save the sauce for redipping afterwards. I enjoyed this and will do it again.

Not a drop left in the pan. I loved that this recipe was homemade sloppy joe and didn't have that commercial can taste like store bought. One of my sons considers himself a sloppy joe expert and he 100% approved this recipe.

Seconds were taken by all on this. Creamy and tasty. Sort of expensive but the taste is worth it. Would compliment any meat dish very well. And could easily be doubled for a larger crowd. Nice pick Recipe Group.

Out of this World Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
A good pie. I didn't think it was too sweet at all. I didn't have all 6 bananas and it was fine. It was popular among alot of fellowship coffee hour desserts this AM and I heard good comments. I would think about adding some strawberries next time. Note: Needs at least 4 hrs to chill. So maybe an overnight thing.
