Dilly Rye Boat Dip

I used freshly cooked corned beef and made my own Beau Monde seasoning. I omitted the celery salt because I thought the beau monde had enough. This tasted delicious. I placed a tbsp of dip on each cut out cookie cutter piece of bread I used. Lovely for finger food apptzs.

Reuben Mac and Cheese

Came together nicely but next time I would use a rectangular baking dish and not a 2 QT bowl. The cheese mixture sank to bottom 1/2 of bowl so that 1/2 was better than the top 1/2. Taste was good and crunchy top was good. I like a thicker rue so maybe that change next time and I think more corned beef.

Pistachio Thins

Very frustrating. Soup is right. But I stayed positive. I tried smaller cookies and reducing time. Still woudln't come off of bak. sheet great. Tried sprinkling flour on sheet hoping the batter would stay more put. Not. Then I tried reducing time and then wrapping around wooden spoon to make more attractive. Uggh. I thought they had no taste at all, waste of 7 eggs to make 1 cup of egg white, and what a waste of pistachios at the price of those. If you like a challenge go for it.

Cinnamon Biscotti with Pistachios

4 stars as this recipe needs tweaking. Taste is great but..... I recommend to shape your log more into a biscotti shape because the dough does not change its shape too much. Then I would reduce the intial baking time as the bottom was too dark even with parchment paper when cutting into indiv. cookie. The top cracked and sawing was difficult to keep any kind of shape. I would def. lightly chop pistachios the next time. I would try this again just to see if the tweaking made it easier. But I have tried much easier biscotti before.

Springtime Pasta Salad

Made for recipe group. Very tasty, creamy and a keeper. The olives did the trick for me. I wouldn't change a thing. I would double for bringing to a picnic. I did use fresh dill as it didn't say so I assumed. Overall Refreshing.

Elegant Easy Torte

Tried with nuts and without nuts and liked w/out nuts much better. So I put picture of "favorite" on. So glad I used blueberry pie filling and is complimented the pound cake very much. It added to a great variety of store bought pound cake recipes that will be served after dinner.

Short Cut Strawberry Short Cakes

Easy when you just need something easy to do and want a dessert. The strawberries make the whole dessert when you use fresh. I cut up the pound cake into 1" pieces and used canned whip cream because we like the real whipped cream taste over the frozen type.

Mona's Fresh Strawberry Pie

This was fantastic. I used a strawberry/rhubarb puree and WOW it tasted so good. This is a sweet pie so if you don't like sssswwweeeet then don't make it or complain. Took most of day to firm up.

White Sloppy Joes

Sugar Glazed Salmon

Easy to make marinade, love the fact that it uses basil. I cut the sugar down a bit and it still had a nice little crust on it. Nice variation for fish.

Easy Caramel Custard

Taste was great. I did not like how thin it came out as I wouldn't serve it like that. So double the recipe for that size pan perhaps. I will try doing this again that way. Not sure how I was supposed to serve it, on a plate? in a dessert bowl? Worth trying as it is little ingredients for a nice tasting dessert.

Sitting Pretty Cookies

Overall tasted good. Recipe is exactly like my thumbprint cookies with raspberry jam. To me the frosting and chocolate covered peanut just didn't make sense. Lots of work.
