Basic Easy Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2013
I am from Buffalo NY where wings orginated, and this is the sauce we use here, minus the black pepper. The wings can be deep fried, baked to crispness, or as in this recipe grilled. Please shake gently, or the lid will blow off your container when you are shaking them up.

Broccoli Slaw

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
I didn't have dried cranberries, but used dried cherries that I had on hand. Also used pine nuts instead, as that is what I had on hand also. I know, people don't yell about changing the recipe, but it is to let you know you can think outside the box, If you don't have the exact ingredients.

I haven't made this in awhile. I used to use raspberry lemonade, and we call this drink "skip and go naked"....can I say that.

I'm sorry, but this was not good. Too bland. Didn't taste like any Spanish rice I have ever had.

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
A nice basic recipe for cabbage rolls. No need to pre cook the rice, and I grated the onion instead of chopping it. I used 2-28 oz. cans of tomato sauce and put dried bay leaf on top of the sauce before baking. I used a combination of ground beef and ground pork, and had some of the meat mixture left over and made them into tiny meatballs and added them to the casserole dish with the cabbage rolls. I also sprinkled the cabbage leaves with salt before putting the meat mixture on and rolling them up. When I cooked them in a pot on top of the stove I always had to use tooth picks to keep the rolls from falling apart, but with baking them, no need to do that.

Festive Olive Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
I made this for Christmas Eve and everyone loved it. I did omit the garlic tho, but it was still very tasty. I love the butter in it, it makes it so smooth and creamy. I didn't roll it into a ball, just put it in a nice dish. Leave it at room temperature for awhile so it is spreadable.

Now this is how we make wings in Buffalo! Simple cooking method and a few ingredients. Don't forget to serve with blue cheese dressing, my favorite is Marie's, and serve celery sticks.

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2011
We LOVED this recipe. I used chicken tenderloins, as that is always what I have on hand. I dusted them with flour mixed with the lemon pepper and garlic powder. I just recently learned to like (love) capers, and this dish is wonderful. Oh I did deglaze the pan with extra dry vermouth, something I always have in the fridge, once opened, you can keep a bottle of it in the fridge for a long time, unlike opened wine. Thank you for this great easy recipe. We will be having it often!!

German Potato Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
I have been making German potato salad for years, and finally have found one the I truly LOVE. It is so easy to make. I used regular sweet onions because I didn't have green onions on hand. Thank you April for this wonderful recipe!! My Husband says it is like eating candy....not because it is sweet, but because he can't stop eating it.

Kaes-Spaetzle

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
I do not have a spaetzle maker, and prefer to tip the bowl slightly over the pot you cook them in, and just take a wet a knife and cut them off the lip of the bowl into the pot. They are like little dumplings. Nice reheated the next day in butter.
