Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2006
I make this every year, and it's always a hit. I usually add nuts to it, about half a cup. I also leave out the liver. I don't even like sausage by itself, but every year I love this stuffing!!

Fluffy White Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2006
This frosting tastes like marshmallows, has a beautiful shine, and holds its shape well. I beat the egg whites in my kitchenaid until stiff before I began cooking the sugar and water. I rewhipped for a few seconds before adding the sugar mixture, and whipped while pouring it in. Don't stop whipping until the frosting becomes glossy/shiny. The sugar/water mixture never became clear for me, but I poured it in anyway. I added a teaspoon of lemon juice to the sugar water just to make sure it wouldn't crystallize. It was delicious with Wacky Cake VIII, for a great layered birthday cake!!

Wacky Cake VIII

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2006
I had my doubts about this cake- no eggs or dairy?? But I made it for a friend's birthday with the White Fluffy Frosting from this website. She was on an iodine-free diet for cancer treatment and so excited to have cake on her birthday. I took my first bite nervously, but it was actually delicious!!! The combination of the frosting (which tasted marshmallow-ey) and the chocolatey cake ended up tasting like a sophisticated moon pie!! The cake was very moist, and the frosting went well with it. I would consider making this again for a birthday cake. I made two 8-inch cakes and turned it into a layer cake. Yum. Thanks for the recipe!

Creamy Lemon Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
This cake is moist, light, and refreshing. I highly recommend it. It's a great dessert after a very heavy meal- I made it last year for Christmas along with a dense chocolate torte- and the lemon cake disappeared first, much to my surprise. I also made a two-layer version for a baby shower- I used the "pudding topping" as filling, and frosted the whole thing with white chocolate ganache. I then decorated it by adding various food colorings to small bags of the ganache and piping it on. It came out really cute!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2003
These brownies were great. I tried them at high altitude (7000 ft) and they were delicious. Definitely don't overcook, 25 minutes was absolutely perfect for a glass pan, and for the dark non-stick pn, even less time would have been better.

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2003
This was a great holiday cookie for me- I sent little tins of them out across the country, and people loved them! I think adding nuts would really create a wonderful cookie, and I plan to do that next time.
