My Best Clam Chowder
Delicious. I have never made clam chowder before, but am a veteran of bone based soup stock. I boiled a ham bone for 1 hr, let stock cool and then made this soup. As a result I was able to reduce the half and half cream by 50% as well as the amount of butter by 25%. To serve I topped with a tablesppon of crispy bacon bits. Absolutely delicious and very filling! Yum!
