Quick and Spicy Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
I used 1 pound of turkey and 1 pound of ground beef because that was what I had, I seasoned the beef because whenever I don't it doesn't taste quite right to me and I never like the dish. I used a bit too much chili powder and so I eliminated the cayenne. I minced the jalapeno and red onion because I choked on a jalapeno recently and DO NOT want that same experience! used the 2 cans kidney beans and one can corn and added brown sugar instead of white. Knowing my boyfriend loves diced tomatoes, added a can of diced tomatoes with green chiles. This is the first chili I have ever made and I and my boyfriend really like it, I think its a simple chili that can be versatile for anyone and that it has the right amount of kick and sweet!

Tasty Sesame Tilapia

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2012
I loved loved loved the marinade, I didn't have ginger so I put a bit of cinnamon because it was the only "similar" spice I had and then I added a little bit of chili sauce to even with the coconut rice I also made. I loved how the marinade smelled and how it tasted but once I tried it with the fish, I couldn't eat it. I know it was because I apparently don't like tilapia like I thought I did and so I'm going to try this marinade on chicken of beef because I think it would taste better. Sorry for such a crummy review! I was really wanting to like this!

Asian Coconut Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2012
I thought that this rice tasted completely like coconut and that it wasn't too subtle! I absolutely loved it in the beginning, but the main dish I made was not tasty at all so it made it hard to keep eating unfortunately. I made this a little different just because I always make 2 cups of rice. other then that, the recipe was simple and yummy.

Nonie's Best BBQ

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2012
I added a little less than 1/2 cup water because I didn't want too much sauce. I also didn't add white sugar as a personal preference where I think brown sugar tastes sweeter and using 3 tablespoons of that was really good. I also added bbq because when you read BBQ your gonna expect that taste but for me it just wasn't there. I also added Worcestershire sauce because I love it in beef, and dried minced onion and also garlic and the paprika to the meat. I think the sauce would taste better cooked into the meat because for some reason my beef just was overbearing. Other than all that, I think it was a great base recipe for me and that I just like to cook with beef a certain way because of how my boyfriend likes things! Thank you :)

Secret Recipe Chicken Fricassee

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
Tastes really good, similar to hollandaise sauce. It tasted even better with the mashed potatoes. I think next time I will put some veggies in it and try it with noodles or rice. I also wonder how I can make it not separate, it was probably the margarine I was using but it sucks when it separates because it doesn't look as appetizing as it really is. Also the recipe makes a ton which is why next time I will half it. of course I didn't use 4 chicken breasts because we usually get full with 2 or 3 cut up in sauce no matter what it is. But I don't think 4 chicken breasts would suffice with the amount it makes. definitely worth trying and tweaking to your tastes although the original is still very good!

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2012
I made changes I didn't really want to because I made the roast later than planned! I put potatoes in it as a preference from my bf and his friend, and we ate the onions I bought for it so unfortunately there was none. I fed three men this pot roast and they ate all but one tiny piece! For some reason they didnt want to eat it??? I usually do not like pot roast or any type of meat soaked gravy but this tasted absolutely awesome! The gravy was the best ever! I hate brown gravy also and I would have ate this with a spoon! Try this roast, very tasty!!

Chicken-Flavored Rice Mix

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
Although I used chicken broth instead of the bouillon cube crumbles, I really liked how it came out. at first I was hesitant because I don't like the smell of parsley and that's what it smelled like, but then I actually tasted it and loved it. will make this again :)

Bruschetta Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2011
Although the stuffing turned out soggy, which was my fault, I loved the taste and how easy it was to make. I didn't cube the chicken because that didn't sound really good to me so I stripped it instead and put it in the oven alone first. Thank you for this awesome recipe!

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
Great recipe! Tried it with shrimp and it tasted awesome! The bacon bits added great flavor and I think adding milk to the sauce will make it more soupy than thick like mine was which seemed like a complaint. Definitely need to dry fresh washed spinach or it will be watery on the bottom. great stuff!

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
The flavor was really good but I think I may have messed up the sauce. It didn't thicken at all so I couldn't use it as a dipping sauce and its a grill recipe which I tried in the oven and it took 50 minutes at 350. I may try again. Thank you for the recipe!

Chipotle Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
I love how simple this recipe is, and it does have good flavor by following it. I did add a bit more chipotle to it and a pinch of sugar and some pepper. I don't really know if those two ingredients made a big difference to it but its still really great! I had them on Steak and Egg burritos and my boyfriend thought it was great!

Cream Cheese Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
I made this for my boyfriend and I and he absolutely loved it! I added garlic into the stuffing and didn't do brown sugar or nuts. I may do brown sugar next time and I'm allergic to certain nuts. I put the bread crumbs on instead and it was a good alteration. The cooking time didn't work well with my oven unfortunately but it was still delicious! Thank you :) 10/19/2011: Made it a second time with cut up spinach which I cooked with the mushrooms and garlic. I also kept the brown sugar out and just had the mustard and Italian bread crumbs this time. We still absolutely love this chicken! boyfriend wont eat the last one till absolutely cant save it any longer ha ha!
