Honey Cranberry Oat Bread

HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE!! I failed to read others comments and as I was preparing, I did notice how dry the dough was. However, I took a risk and tried not to add more oil. Knowing that the dough felt dry, I took it out of the oven WAY early then its suggested 40-45 minutes. Yes, it is dry but quite tasty. The cranberries was not that tart as some as suggested as I tend to love cranberry drinks or the tartest apple out there. My suggestion is you can doctor this up to make it "yummy" or you can doctor it up a little more to make it HEALTHY. Sometimes I enjoy eating the most unhealthy stuff but I also enjoy eating things that taste guiltfree as well. Try: Egg beaters instead of egg Soymilk instead of milk Wheat flour instead of white It ALREADY uses honey and NO sugar! I use local honey in my tea already so using this in my foods was a bonus!). I also love recipes that uses oats! Great recipe, will try again. As the author's note suggested, it is a "hearty" recipe.

Fortune Cookies So Easy

READ THE REVIEWS! THEY GIVE YOU TIPS! I found something out that might help some of you. I also was having problems while folding it and it breaking. What I learned is: Yes, the texture should be like a pancake (so I did have to add more water to mine because it was thick) BUT in addition, once it's put on the cookie sheet, it should NOT be like a pancake but more like a crepe. You've reeeally gotta thin it out with a spoon. Too thick and it'll break. You know you've got it thin enough when you pick it up and it feels like you're flinging a piece of rubber around. If it feels like a thin cookie---too thick still.

Pomegranate Dessert

i eat a lot of pomegranates so i just wanted to find another way to eat them. this is obviously so simple! i just never thought of putting these ingredients together. Just adding sugar and lemon juice is what did it for me.

Polvorones de Canele (Cinnamon Cookies)

I rated a 4 instead of a 5 because it just doesn't say "WOW" to me but it is still very MARVELOUS! Honestly, I think it's just a personal preference thing....that's why you should read more than one review right? Followed the recipe exactly and turned out great..HOWEVER... like others have said, it is not necessary to make that large of the cinnamon mixture. Just make the balls first..., eye your cookie balls and just guess logically how much sugar you should use...it's pretty obvious not a whole cup. Weird how people complain or like that it's doughy. People shouldn't even mention that! It's obvious that you should've baked it longer or less based your preferences. My first batch turned out dry (baked too long) and so my second batch I baked it shorter. My point is...this cookie CAN be dry. This recipe is worthy of making again in the future! It IS one of those melt-in-your-mouth type cookies.

Roasted Garlic Peppercorn Sauce

It is just "okay." It would be better if the author would have recommended adding something else in...such as chicken or shrimp. Not a "WOW" sauce by itself with pasta. Definitely worth trying if you're going to vary it up quite a bit. I agree with most others-quite thick. Maybe it's to hide the chunkiness of the garlic???

Peter's Cheesecake

This was the first cheesecake I've ever made and it turned out real well (and tasted really good!). There are better cheesecakes I've tasted, but considering how basic the ingredients are and how simple it was to make is why I rated it a 5.
