About this Cook
Cooking is my hobby, my comfort, love to entertain, husband collects wine and is a terrific barbecuer, together we make a lot of wonderful meals for our family and for friends. Respect the cooking styles of many out there; the galloping gourmet, julia (childs of course), Jacques Pepin, Jamie Kennedy, Emeril.....
My favorite things to cook
Love to cook fabulous meats and desserts. Feel they are the backbone of every meal. Love to create well blended menus with a theme, carrying all the courses together to a triumphant dedicant finish.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Love Thanksgiving and Christmas. Love all the hustle and bustle of the holidays and organizing myself in order to create a variety of meals and treats to take us through the entire holiday season. Actually I have special dishes for all the holidays.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking a dinner for 24 people and having everything ready and tasty and on time. Elegant, finicky dinner parties, too many to mention, where everything has turned out, but more than that company has gone home not only full but inspired.
My cooking tragedies
Yikes, who can count! I have a habit of burning nuts when baking. I will try just about anything and with our Gourmet dinner club I have been guilty of trying some pretty weird things, the vegetarian night was probably the worst received, just a little too many beans and peas.

Chinese Napa Cabbage Salad
Great salad. Have made tons of times. I make dressing and the nut topping, then chop and bag the veggies (Napa and green onions)and put all in fridge. When I am ready just toss all together. Can do up to 2 days ahead. Sometimes I make half recipe and do the rest the next day or the day after. Very user friendly recipe and always gets rave reviews.

Sweet Green Bean Bundles
Loved this recipe. I used fresh green beans, blanched them the day before, par cooked the back, rolled the beans in the bacon, made the sauce poured it over and covered overnight. The day of the dinner I cooked as directed. Made for a dinner for 10 and everybody loved them. They looked great and better still, they tasted great.
