Buffet Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
Loved this recipe and it went over big at the party I took them to. It's quick, easy and delicious! It's also interchangeable as I did not have apple jelly on hand. The Polaner's all fruit apricot flavor that I used worked great. I know I already said it's QUICK & EASY but I want to emphasize that again!.....especially since I skipped step one. I DID NOT heat the sauce in a pan first. I just threw it all in the crock pot. Thanks so much Janet!!

Chocolate Cake V

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2006
I tried this cuz I wanted to use up some leftover brewed coffee (thanks allrecipes for your ingredient search section). Also I happened to have all the ingredients this recipe calls for. I goofed following the directions since I was trying to hurry. I put the sugar in with the flour, etc. and I did not sift but stirred with a wire whisk. I'm glad it still came out good. Also in my oven it only needed to bake 30 min. Even then it looked a little dry, but it was very light, not at all dry on the inside. It cut beautifully. On my 1st bite of the warm cake, I thought it might need to be sweeter but I changed my mind as I finished eating it, after all I was enjoying it without icing. I will make this again since it was good, easy and forgiving of my mistakes. Also I'm eager to try it with semi-sweet chocolate chips added!

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2003
After reading all the reviews, and being in a hurry (sigh), I did the short cut version of this recipe. I used 2 16 oz bags of ready made slaw, which contained cabbage and carrots only. I did not have a bowl big enough to mix this so I used a large cooking pot, but rest assured it will decrease in volume. I did not add any onion or celery, though I'm sure that would be good too. Then as previously suggested I halved the amounts for the sugar, vinegar, oil (I used canola), salt & dry mustard. I learned that half a tablespoon is equal to a teaspoon and a half. I just sprinkled the amount of pepper I wanted. Wow did this taste delicious! I also give this recipe more "Wows" for being quick & easy to make and for having to make it ahead of time. Thanks Dot for sharing.

Creamy Clam-Scallop Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2003
My husband & I both think this is a keeper. I didn't have all the ingredients. I didn't use the dill nor the sherry. I was going to substitute the sherry with chicken broth but, ha, I didn't have that either. It was still good although it seemed to need just a tweak more seasoning...probably 'cuz of what I left out plus I added more than 6 ounces of scallops. Using canned minced clams helped make this pretty easy to assemble.
