The Ultimate Beef Jerky

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
We really didn't like this recipe at all. I followed it exactly and the flavour of the jerky was not good at all. Maybe this is better for a steak marinade than a piece of jerky.

Coconut Shrimp I

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
Best to use raw shrimp - cooked came out a little tough but still incredibly tasty.

Heavenly Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: May 6, 2012
Absolutely delicious. I used semi-sweet chipits and topped it with fresh raspberries - next time I would layer fruit throughout to cut the richness. Perfect dessert!

Megan's Granola

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
This granola was perfect. The sweetness was right, the flavour was excellent and it was nicely crunchy. I added a cup of unsweetened, shredded coconut as well and it was terrific. I just realized that I forgot to add the oil and it turned out great without it.

Baked Salmon Fillets Dijon

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2004
The best salmon ever. I didn't use the breadcrumbs and I only prepared 2 peices of salmon in a ceramic dish. The extra sauce melted nicely over the salmon as it cooked and it was a good dipping sauce as well. I also used 2 tablespoons of honey-dijon and one tablespoon of regular dijon. I topped each peice of salmon with crushed pecans and that made this dish to die for. What a crowd pleaser!

Peanut Butter Eggs II

These were absolutely delicious! I used a coverture chocolate along with semisweet chocolate for the coating and it was perfect.

Everyone loved it. I followed the recipe as is - I wasn't sure it would taste good but it was a huge hit.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
The icing had to be whipped for a while to remove the clumps of cocoa which seemed to thin it out a little. I would only add a bit of the milk at first and then whip it until smooth to see if any additional milk is necessary.

Mustard Crusted Tilapia

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
This was terrible. The sauce was strangely coloured, the flavour was awful and it didn't really form a crust. I actually had to dare my husband to take the first bite. Sadly, this one didn't work.

Roast Beef with Coffee

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2004
The meat didn't taste beefy enough and the gravy tasted bitter. Not my thing.

Kale Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
These were awful. I don't know what I was expecting but mine turned out like dried leaves that you rake in the fall. I love veggies but this was all wrong. Maybe I overcooked them but I can't imagine how they would taste good at all.

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2013
These muffins were a little dense but very tasty. I also made my own buttermilk with a tablespoon of lemon and 1% milk. I added a full pint of fresh blueberries and omitted the nuts. I added a pinch of nutmeg and some cinnamon as well. I'll be making these again.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
These tasted great - I wasn't sure about the crumble on top but I only added a little and it really enhanced the overall flavour. Very nice muffin.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
These cookies are excellent. I seperated the dough into 36 balls and popped them in the freezer for 30 minutes. This made them firm enough to bake in perfect circles of chocately goodness. I cooked until they just started to brown and them came out beautifully. Great recipe.

Everyone loves this recipe! I often make a banana bread from it and it comes out light and fluffy. I've added choc chips and/or toasted walnuts and it tastes really great.

Yummy Lemon Salmon Burgers

Very tasty but the smell is a little off-putting. I used chives instead of onions and it was pretty good.

This is a very moist and flavourful cake. Even people who "don't like" carrot cake eat this up.

Cheesy Polenta

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
I really enjoyed this recipe but I found the polenta to be a little thick. It still tasted great so I'm not complaining. I added some fresh chives from my garden to spruce it up a little. Next time I'll try a liquid ratio of 5:1 to make it less firm.
