Bloody Mary Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
i have made this mix for years but never knew to use brown sugar. boy was i surprised, it does add to the taste. i had a party and made a pitcher of my standard and a pitcher of this mix with the brown sugar. i marked them a and b served a very small sample of each without the vodka and had them vote. 31 people sampled each and the vote was 27 to 4 in favor of the mix with brown sugar. what more needs to be said. may i add one piece of advice, because tomato juice is so acidic, never by in a can only in a bottle, if not you will taste the can on the roof of your mouth

Bacon 'n' Egg Bundles

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
this was pretty good but the bacon on the bottom did not get done enough, the bottom pieces need to be cooked more than the wrapping pieces before it is put into the cups. 18 minutes will harden the yolk 1/2 way. the egg doesnt have much flavor like a poached egg, some cheese or sauce after cooking would help and get the rating to 4 stars

Crab and Noodle Cakes with Cilantro-Lime Mayonnaise

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2006
we made the crab cake sauce also, everyone liked that sauce better. this needs to be kicked up somehow. but we will use it agian with the other sauce. it makes a great presentation and the lime is a great contrast to the other sauce

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2006
believe me when i tell you this is a basic stew receipe at best unless it is doctored up. to start i mixed 3 Tbl spoons of all purpose flower with 1/2 tsp of pepper, seasoning salt, garlic powder, paprika, and onion powder to i coat the meat before browning it in the oil. in the pot i used 4 cubes of bouillon and 1 more cup of water(you can thicken with the flower mixture that didnt coat the meat if you like). in the spices for the broth i added 1/2 tsp of thyme, and 2 bay leaves. finally i added 1 cup of frozen peas, and corn. i never use corn starch to thicken anything, flower with some added spices is much better.

Herb Roasted Pork Loin and Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2006
first things first. too much garlic for my taste, but 5 others liked it. my loin was 4 pds but was 5" in diameter so it took 3 hrs to cook. potatoes were too dry. i will not put them in the oven next time. always serve homemade applesauce with this. i cut slits around the meat to get the rub deep inside. it was not dry, but i am going to look for a recipe that will make some kind of juice. there were not dripings in the pan.

if you follow the recipe you will love this for the first week then hate it after that. this is a great holiday recipe, so good in fact that you will eat too much until you are sick of them for awhile. i made about 2 pounds(alot) and gave some to employees(with a xmas bonus of course)they loved them. customers also luved them and they didnt get a bonus, my family loved them so they must be good
