Fluffy French Toast

I also have had trouble with soggy French toast in the past, but this recipe was wonderful! I doubled the cinnamon and added 1/2 tsp nutmeg, but other than that, I followed it exactly. I used Texas toast, and it yielded 8 pieces. This will be my new go-to French toast recipe from now on.

Buttermilk Pancakes I

These were the best pancakes! I did not use a blender. I just mixed them by hand, and they turned out wonderful. I had some fresh blueberries and pecans that I sprinkled on top of some of them while they were cooking, and that was especially good. They are sweeter than traditional pancakes, but I really enjoyed them. I just used a little less syrup than I normally would. This will be my go-to pancake recipe from now on!

Jerre's Black Bean and Pork Tenderloin Slow Cooker Chili

I made this tonight, and my family absolutely loved it. The only differences that I made were to add about a Tbsp of garlic and I used Mrs. Dash chili lime seasoning instead of the chili powder. I probably used a little extra of the Mrs. Dash also. This was so amazing. It was filling, healthy, and delicious, and it was so simple to make! I added chopped avocado, crushed tortilla chips, chopped cilantro, and cheese to the bowls just before serving. I did add just a little salt also, but that might vary depending on the brand of beans and salsa you use. Thank you Jerre for a great recipe!

Polish Chicken and Dumplings

Absolutely wonderful! This is easy, inexpensive, and delicious. I didn't strain the broth because I wanted the all the celery and onion to stay in. I thought that most of the allspice was floating on top so picked them out instead. We ended up finding a good number in later, but I don't know that I would do anything different the next time. Even so, my husband, my four-year-old son, and I all really enjoyed our warm Halloween dinner. Definitely a keeper!

Easy Sugar Cookies

These were okay. I was hoping for a little more with all the great reviews. They are not soft cookies; they are crisp. I think adding a little salt might have helped, but I didn't enjoy the flavor very much. It was kind of bland. My search for the best sugar cookies continues.

Old-Fashioned Cheese Potatoes

Yummy! I was almost out of butter and didn't realize it so I did 2 tbsp butter and 2 tbsp olive oil, and it was still delicious. I also used Velveeta Light for the cheese. I used 2% milk, but I think I'm going to try it with skim next time to see if I can take off a little more of the fat. Very great recipe, and very simple!

This is the best punch I have ever had. I have used it for a wedding, family get-togethers, work events, and parties, and everyone loves it. Formal or informal, it always goes over well.

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

I don't know why these were rated so well. They really weren't that good. They were very dense and just didn't have a very good flavo. I love pumpkin muffins, and since this was rated so well and was so easy, I thought it'd be great. Instead, I am just going to make muffins the old-fashioned way.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

This was great! I used a 1&1/2 lb pork shoulder roast because that is what I had. I followed the recipe exactly except I didn't have any hot sauce on hand. The roast was so tender and the juices were delicious. My husband was absolutely in love with this meal. It couldn't have been simpler either. If you use a pork loin roast, this would also be a very healthy, low-fat main dish. That is how I will make it from now on since I like the loin better.

Double Quick Dinner Rolls

These were okay. The onion flavor was a little strong for me. They were quick and easy, but they were more of a biscuit texture than a roll. Nice in a pinch, but I probably won't make them again.

Irresistible Pecan Pie

This pie was absolutely amazing! I have been making pecan pie for a few years, but I'd never come across a recipe that was exceptional. Well, now I've found it. I have a favorite pie crust recipe that I used instead of this one, but the filling was perfect. Lots and lots of nuts and a sweet gooey filling make this pecan pie one you can impress with. It was very easy to make too, so you don't have to be a great cook to fix up a great dessert!

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

This recipe is wonderful! I didn't add the topping since I was also making pecan pie and wanted to have an option without nuts. Since I didn't use the topping, I added just a little bit of sugar to the filling. It was also so simple! I would recommend this whether this is the first or the hundreth pie you've ever made.

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie
