Moist Holiday Honeycake

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
Dee-Lish!! Everyone loved this cake. Very moist and fragrant. Easy to make. I made the following small adjustments: 3/4 cup honey, 1/2 cup molasses; omitted whiskey; reduced sugar to 3/4 C white sugar; 1/2 C brown sugar. In my oven it was done in 50 minutes. Thank you for this recipe!

The Best Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2011
Wonderful cake. I used Earth Balance shortening; reduced sugar to 2 C; added poppyseeds (didn't measure, prbably about 1/2 cup). Everyone loved it! Very moist. Next time I may add more limon extract for a more intense lemony flavor.

Black Bean and Sweet Potato Quesadillas

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2014
These were delicious, everyone in my family loved them. I omitted the corn and chili powder, added garlic powder and cumin. To save time I cooked the potatoes in the morning and mashed the beans and seasonings with the potatoes so when i came home from work I just had to fill/cook the quesadillas. I made salsa fresca (chopped tomatoes, onions, juice of 1/2 lime and salt) with it. YUM! Thanks for this recipe!

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Everyone loves this cake. It is a tad too sweet for me so the second time I made it I reduced sugar to 1 1/2 C, could even reduce to 1 C. I also added Chinese 5 spuce

Bean and Honey Burrito Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
Delicions! Thanks for the recipe. I made the following minor changes: wanted a vegetarian dish so omitted chicken and used 1 15oz can of black beans and 1 15oz can of garbanzo beans; 1 whole diced red pepper, 1 whole diced green pepper; 1 small onion, 1 diced tomato. Instead of placing the whole tortillas in the baking dish I tore them into strips then layered them.

Chocolate Oat Snack Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
These are absolutely wonderful! Great alone or warm with vanilla ice cream. I added 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp instant coffee to bring out more of the chocolate flavor. I also reduced the sugars to 3/4 cup each. Great chocolate taste; not too sweet.

Pumpkin Ginger Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2012
There is one one rating word for this recipe: DELICIOUS! I made a minor adjustment--1 used 1 stick of butter and 1/2 C of prune butter (can also use applesauce, or any fruit puree) and therefore omitted the white sugar (otherwise too sweet). Everyone loved it! I made a bundt cake instead of cupcakes and so baked it for 45 minutes. Perfect! Thank you for this recipe.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2012
These are the perfect chocolate chip cookies. The minor changes I made were for personal preference only. I omitted nuts (prefer "straight chocolate chip cookies!), increased vanilla to 1 TB (my usual for most recipes) and decreased white sugar to 1/2 cup. Cookies were sweet enough and delicious. Thank you for this recipe! This website is the best!

Winter Vegetable Hash

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2013
Very good. I used dried sage as I had it on hand, also used onion instead of shallot for same reason. It is a good basic recipe that allows for experimentation--next time! Added bonus: with the leftover kale I put the kale leaves on cookie sheet, sprinkled with a bit of salt and garlic powder, and baked at 350 for about 15 min to make kale chips--yum! Thanks for this recipe.
