Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
VERY VERY VERY GOOD! I followed the recipe exactly. I tried the marinade before marinating my 2 filet mignon steaks and I wasn't impressed at all. It tasted like seasoned worcestershire sauce to me. Anyway I let my 2 steaks marinate for 4 hours, cooked it on each side for 3 minutes, added the remaining sauce to mushrooms like another commenter suggested, sauteed and served on top. DELICIOUS!!!! The marinade combined with the steak WAS DIVINE!!!! My bf and I couldn't get enough!!! Believe me, DO NOT get discouraged if you try the marinade by itself, you will NOT regret making this. AMAZING!!!! Great Job Kookie!!

AMAZING! Followed the recipe step by step. One thing though--It tasted amazing right way! The next day it wasn't as spectacular. Nonetheless this is a party favorite!!!!

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2011
I had a 7lb pork shoulder ("aka" pernil). I followed the directions without hawaiian sea salt as I couldn't find any. I put it in at 7pm, turned it at 10:30pm (because I was going to bed) and left it on low until 8:30am. At that time I left it on low because I was at work and had a roommate unplug it at 3pm. I came home at 6pm. The meat was very, very tender and fell off the bone. The taste was a drop smoky and although I used 1 1/2 TBS of salt, it needed more..or something. Everyone RAVED about it. I tried one hardened piece that was really good but the meat was very bland. I added more salt and more liquid smoke. I then added bbq sauce like another commenter did and had a pulled pork sandwich. I will try this again one day but with the hawaiin salt. Hopefully that would make a difference.

Puerto Rican Garlic Marinade

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
CUT BACK ON THE SALT!!!!! WAY TOO MUCH!!!! Otherwise the recipe is very good :) I made this to put on leftover pork I had and had to rinse it off and start over. A half teaspoon of salt should be good (as you can always add more if needed) and a half bunch of cilantro blended in nicely when I put all the ingredients in my kitchen chopper :)

Homemade Steak Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
AWESOME!! I was really impressed with the outcome. I was wondering how the grapefruit juice would pan out and it blended perfectly with everything!! My boyfriend was especially ecstatic about it! I'm going to bottle it up and keep in the fridge! :D

Sauteed Portobellos and Spinach

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
AMAZING! I notice some folks did not follow this recipe step by step or thought to put fresh spinach or white wine. FOLLOW THE STEPS AND THEY WILL LEAD YOU TO FOOD NIRVANA!!!! Everything was absolutely perfect! My boyfriend couldn't get enough of it. This is definitely a winner for a dinner party as well. Frozen spinach is the way to go however if you're going to use fresh, make sure you put a hefty amount!!

Green Chile Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
THIS WAS FANTASTIC!!!! I have never made a quiche before so I was really hoping for the best. At first I thought it was very little spinach in the recipe but believe me, EVERYTHING IS IN PERFECT AMOUNTS!! Just remember to let the quiche cool, it locks in more flavor and allows the crust to settle. I followed the recipe step by step however I had more quiche stuffing than crust! To be safe, I suggest purchasing 3 pie crusts in case you need more room. I assure you that the leftovers wont last long!!

Cajun Shrimp Orecchiette

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
I followed this recipe step by step. I didn't officially have "Orecchiette" so I used shells. Overall my boyfriend really enjoyed this recipe. I thought it would be a bit more spicy but the amount listed is good for those who are spice sensitive (I'm giving it 4 stars because I was expecting more spice. Nonetheless this was tasty!). It was simple and quick to make and was very pretty to look at :)
