Playgroup Granola Bars
I followed the core recipe pretty closely, and doubled it so I could use a jelly roll pan (and because I have six people in my family, including four avid granola bar eaters). I used whole wheat flour instead of white, and coconut oil instead of vegetable. I used 2 Tbsp. vanilla (probably very slightly too much-would try 5 tsp next time). I used peanut butter (a little more than 1/2 c for the doubled recipe), and therefore only used a drizzle of honey. I used 1 1/2c. chocolate chips. I omitted cinnamon. It was a little too salty (I used natural peanut butter, so that would not have added any), so I would reduce that next time. I also used 1 c. brown sugar (for doubled recipe). I'm a sucker for things right out of the oven, and the taste was good then-we'll see how it tastes and how crunchy they are when cooled. I am also eager to try a fruit and nut version with sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, and almonds. In that case, I'll use the full amount of honey. Not sure about the cinnamon with those other ingredients. Thanks for the recipe!

The Old Boy's Strawberry Pie
I made this recipe exactly as suggested and it was excellent. It IS sweet; it's a very old-fashioned, simple recipe. It reminds me of something my grandmother would have made. I suppose you could do without some of the sugar, but with summer-fresh berries, you can splurge once in a while. I made it today for Father's Day, and it's just about gone (even though there were several other desserts). I did heap the berries, and it turned out beautifully.

Country Apple Dumplings
Absolutely delicious! I followed others' recommendations, and rolled the apple slices in cinnamon/sugar/nutmeg before wrapping with crescent roll dough. I used 2 parts white sugar to 1 part brown sugar and cooked the sauce longer to make it caramelly. I also added nutmeg (in addition to the cinnamon) to the sauce. I took about 48 of these to an event at church, and literally had dozens of requests for the recipe. The house smelled great while baking, the kids enjoyed helping, and this will definitely be one of my go-to recipes for company!
