Banana Split Cake II

I have made a variation of this for over a decade and its a family fav now for every holiday. Instead of the vanilla wafers, I buy graham cracker pie crusts (2) for convenience sake. The cream cheese mixture is plenty for 2 pies, even the larger portion pie shells. I add a little more pineapple and garnish with maraschino cherries, walnut pieces and mini choc chips. Love the magic shell and also choc syrup drizzle ideas, but I've not tried either yet.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

I grew up baking these every Christmas with my Mom. Instead of a thumb or other item, I make the indentation by pressing the bottom of a small measuring spoon into it. Makes a deep enough well that the jam doesn't run out and its a perfect circle. We sprinkled w/sifted confectioner's sugar once they cooled. Problem with that is the conf sugar always "disappears" with any moisture in the air, so I'm looking forward to trying the glaze.

Spicy Potato Soup II

We love it! Its a great cool weather/winter treat and I always serve it with fresh/homemade bread. Most of my family/guests prefer it a little thick and add grated cheddar cheese and/or a dollop of sour cream into their bowl. I adjust the spiciness depending on who's to eat it and sometimes if for folks on bland diets, I'll toss in a bag of frozen veggies. Also, instead of tomato sauce (24oz) I use tomato paste and water to an approx 24oz mix. The tomato sauce doesn't sustain as much flavor as the paste and its also saltier.
