Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2014
Any idea if using almond milk would work properly in this recipe? My thought is no, but wondered if anyone had tried with successful results.

So simple, and tastes amazing. I usually add a little bit of vanilla extract as well.

I made this dip last year for the superbowl and it's been requested again. I just love it!

New England Clam Chowder II

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Very easy and quick. The only complaint I have is the amount of bacon grease used. My husband thought it was great and had a slight steak taste, I thought it overpowered the clam flavor. I'm sure I'll make it again, I'll just adjust for my tastes, and reserve only a tablespoon of the grease.

Wasabi Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
These were great! Made them with the 'Ginger glazed Mahi Mahi' off this site. The potatoes were a hit. I didn't really measure anything, just eyeballed it all, but the combination of the roasted garlic and wasabi was really tasty, and I don't really even like wasabi. My hubby also approved, and he can be hard to please. Definitely a must try!!

I do like my cornbread sweet, but this wasn't anything special. I am still searching for that perfect recipe.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
Fabulous recipe! This is definitely one of the best things ever to come out of my kitchen. I cooked the chicken and veggies in the broth and added spices (garlic and onion powders, thyme, parsley, and a little dill). No celery seed either. I also only put on the top crust to save on some fat and calories. Next time I will try to reduce the butter a little.

Almond Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Pretty good! I didn't use instant rice, and also added some saute'd mushrooms. I served this alongside grilled tilapia with mango salsa (from this site), and some steamed peas.

Easy Chicken Satay

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
This one wasn't for us. The peanut sauce just tasted like overly sweet peanut butter, and there was a ton of it. I won't be attempting it again.

I liked this! It was a tad spicey, but good. I think this will be our new chili recipe.

Curried Shrimp Bisque

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
I would use less curry powder next time, that was a little overwhelming. I did use fat free half and half, and couldn't tell. I also omitted the brandy.

I really enjoyed this! I've never had a fruit salsa before, but it was tasty and complimented the fish well.

Absolutely Fabulous Portobello Mushroom Tortellini

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
Superb! This gets 5 stars for ease of preparation and great taste. I used the alfredo from the refrigerated section, a whole package of baby bellas, and used cheese ravioli instead of tortellini. It really tastes like it came from a restaurant. I'll be making again for sure!

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
I agree that you need to pre-cook and cool the rice ahead of time. I added bean sprouts and green onion to make it more like what I am used to getting in the restaurant, but there was still something missing. Maybe it was the oyster sauce as another reviewer suggested.

General Tsao's Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
I am so disappointed in this dish, nothing about it was good and I am sorry I got out the deep fryer for it. We usually only deep fry for our superbowl party... so once a year, but based on the reviews I decided to give this a try. This tastes NOTHING like the general tsao chicken I order in the restaurant. Tastes more like a cheap chinese dish you would get from the frozen section in the grocery store.

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
I've never had curry before so I have nothing to compare this to, but I thought it was pretty good. I wasn't so sure while it was cooking (I cooked in the crock pot for several hours) the smell was so strong, but once I put it over rice, I was really impressed. This isn't something I would make often, but as a once in a while dish, it was pretty good. *EDIT* After 2 days of eating the leftovers, I've decided that I really like it, and wish there was more left. Too bad my family didn't think too much of it, or I'd be making it again already!

Asparagus Parmesan

I thought this was just OK. I think it would be better (and healthier) just to steam it, then top with the cheese.

Blueberry Dump Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
This recipe is a winner! I had never made a dump cake before and was a little bit leary about trying it. Let me tell you though, that it was great, and how much easier can you get!? I used frozen berries, so I had to cook for longer. I also took the recommendation of slicing the cold butter so it wouldn't pool up. It was so good! I'd definitely make this again.
