This soup is excellent, and didn't suffer from my substituting chicken broth for the vegetable broth (probably should have checked the pantry before starting to cook)! Also tastes quite good cold on a hot day.

Perfect Pie Crust I

I don't even like pie crust beyond its uses as a vehicle for tasty fillings, but this one is absolutely delicious. I actually liked it more than the rest of the pie!

Lemon Carrots and Rutabaga

Took a bit longer than the instructions said for the veggies to be done, but quite good on the whole. Instead of dill, I used rosemary, which was quite good.

Apple Spice Cake

This cake was perfect! It was moist, smelled wonderful, looked wonderful, and tasted amazing! I omitted the raisins and grated the apples, which I think helped to make the cake more moist. Definitely intend to make again, and soon!

Orange-Glazed Cornish Hens

The cooking time was difficult to judge, and the rind was perhaps a bit much, but on the whole this chicken was quite delicious and was absolutely beautiful. It looked just as good (if not better) than the picture when it came out!

Mashed Maple Sweet Potatoes

These were some of the best sweet potatoes I have ever had! They're sweet, but not overly so and the nuts add a nice texture. Will definitely be making this again!

Oven-Roasted Root Vegetables

While I have never been a huge vegetable fan, this recipe was very tasty. I did have to adjust the cooking time, however. Also, I couldn't find celery root so I used turnips instead, which worked fine.
