Herbed Potatoes with Sauce

I liked this recipe the minute I read it. I knew I would be adding other spices. And, after cooking for over 50 years, I really like the idea of making a sauce from the broth! And I may even 'smash' them before serving. Kitzer

Braunschweiger and Nut Ball

Funny reviews!! I've been making this for over 45 years!! It is fantastic!! I've also added some powdered Ranch Dressing mix to it with wonderful results! Yup, it's 'old people's food' - "Get outta here youngin's!" LOL As for the reviewer - 'angelanok' - I bet if the recipe just called for 'Braunschweiger', and not added the words 'liver sausage', both she and her guest would have loved it!! I think her kids must be those proverbially ' PICKY EATERS!! So much for the 'Power of Words'!!

Amazing Slow Cooker Chocolate Cake

I think that the person who said it was NOT moist, probably lifted the lid 3 or 4 times during cooking! Doing so, adds time to the cooking and also releases a lot on the 'moisture' from inside which is condusive to making this a 'moist' cake! All crock pots vary in degrees of heat and cooking times. This recipe needs 'baby sitting'! And this cake is suppose to be kind of 'jiggley' in the center! It can be compared to a 'Chocolate Lava Cake', only in a large format as opposed to individual ramekin servings.

FYI -- You could bake this for over 2 1/2 - 3 hours, and there would STILL be ALCOHOL in it!!

Gurkensalat (German Cucumber Salad)

Gott im Himmel!! Without digging out my old recipe book, I sure this is the same recipe we got from our German Grandmother Gertrude! Born in the late 1880's and died 1959! When the season was right, she added fresh dill. I have added crushed fennel seed to give it another taste sensation. I have saved this recipe and will be comparing it to mine, but I'm sure this is about the same!! ENJOY!!!
