Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
If you have to change two ingredients, it's not a 5* recipe, IMHO. As written, this recipe is greasy. Follow the reviewer's suggestions and try using a Rolo or Dove caramel for a 5* cookie.

Great combination of flavors. I simmered chunks of sweet potato in the sauce.

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
Made this with Rotel tomatoes and fresh jalapenos. Lots of fresh lime juice (4), fresh cilantro, cumin, and only a splash of Italian dressing. Everybody loved it.

I had to sub white grape/peach juice for the apricot nectar. It was terrific!

Mango Chutney Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
I used the spicy chutney and mixed it right in the cream cheese to make more of a spread. People absolutely *raved* over this. I sprinkled toasted almonds over the top.

Chocolate Spoons

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2007
This is a great recipe to get creative with. For Christmas, I colored white chocolate with food coloring and added a couple of drops of peppermint flavoring. Dipped some in the colored mint, then drizzled with melted chocolate and sprinkled with candy sprinkles. With some, I dipped in chocolate, stuck miniature marshamallows on while still wet, then drizzed the marshmallows with the colored chocolate. Wrapped in little cello bags and tied with curling ribbon, they are an impressive addition to gift baskets with a mug, some coffee, and homemade treats.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
Very good flavor and plenty of juice without adding any liquid. I put onions and celery in the bottom of the crock. There is so much waste when I roast a whole turkey, we may have this for Thanksgiving.

Excellent on "The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies", just needs a little more milk. I liked the flavor much better on the second day.

Roasted Lemon Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
Very good recipe. I doubled and made 2 large roasters for a potluck dinner. They got put out near the end so I was thinking I'd have enough to take home to my husband but somebody took an entire chicken, bones and all. Guess what he will get is leftover pieces in lemon sauce, served over rice, which I'm sure will be delicious.

Chocolate Icing

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
Not at all impressed with the texture or flavor and it wasn't nearly enough to frost a 2 layer cake. Tastes too much like brown sugar and is too sweet and gritty.

Super Duper Oatmeal

I love this. Sometimes I add flax and I usually slice banana over the top after it's in the bowl to add more texture, nutrition, and flavor.

This is great cake filling, just be sure to chill it or your layers will slide apart. Great when used with with decorator icing that also has almond flavoring.

Black Forest Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2006
This is impressive! Looks like it came from a fancy bakery and tastes as good as it looks. Be careful not to overbake the cake which causes the dryness some have complained about. I used canned cherry pie filling (about 1 1/2 cans). I might add a little almond extract to the filling next time

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
This is amazing, no changes needed. I like to layer it in a glass bowl, it's enough to do 3 layers of wafers and bananas. A pretty dessert and people just go crazy over it. Make sure cream cheese is room temp. and mix it with the condensed milk till smooth so you don't end up with lumps. Also very good with banana cream/vanilla puddings mixed.
