Pizza Pinwheels

Reviewed: May 28, 2004
These were very tasty, but not very easy to make---definitely try this one at least once before attempting it for a party---it is very hard to get the rolls to stay tight and also hard to slice them. The result is yummy no matter what happens.

Chocolate Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 28, 2004
This tasted great but it was a little rubbery at the bottom---I read once what makes that happen to quickbreads, but I don't remember what the reason was. My husband, kids and I all agree I should try it again.

Peppermint Bars

Reviewed: May 28, 2004
These are excellent and look beautiful on a tray of cookies! If putting these on a tray try putting them in small bowl or tupperware in the center of the tray---keep them covered with plastic wrap or the tupperware lid until ready to serve so the peppermint aroma doesn't flavor the other cookies. Cut fairly small pieces (a bit or two) as these are very buttery and rich. Enjoy!

Roast Pork with Maple and Mustard Glaze

Reviewed: May 28, 2004
This pork roast recipe is a much simpler version of another maple/vinegar/mustard pork recipe. I added my favorite part from the old recipe and it makes this roast perfect---simply rub the roast with around 2 teaspoons of sage and brown it on all sides in a little butter on the stovetop, then place the meat in a roasting pan. Add the glaze ingredients to the pan you browned the meat in and bring just barely to a simmer, making sure you loosen any browned bits that had remained in the pan. Then pour about 2/3 of the glaze over the roast and pop it in the oven. When the roast is done u can add whatever glaze remains in the roasting pan to whatever you had left on the stove and bring it to a boil til it reaches a good "gravy" consistency and serve it on the side with the meat.

Texas Sheet Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2003
This was incredibly easy and quick---kids loved it, but my husband thought the icing was too sweet and not chocolaty enough. The cake stayed moist for days. The cake came out of the pan well too---I unmolded the whole sheet and used it to make a layer cake---worked very well.
