About this Cook
I have two young kids, and work part-time. My husband and I typically split cooking responsibilities. I have a few recipes I'm "known" for in our family, but he is the one who can quickly make stuff up.
My favorite things to cook
Because of our busy work schedules (dh works 9-5 an hour away, I work evenings), I try to have something ready when family gets home. aka, lots of slow cooker meals!
My cooking triumphs
cheesecakes, and I have a family recipe for lasagna that I am well-known for!
My cooking tragedies
I try to forget those!

Slow Cooker Ham
I used a boneless 4 lb ham, and 1 cup of brown sugar, let it cook on low for 5 hours. My family loved it, this will be a standby in our family for a quick and easy winter meal!

Maple Baked Pork Loin Roast
I used a few suggestions of other reviewers and cut down the amount of ketchup to 1/3 cup, also I used pork chops since that was what I had on hand. My family loved it! It tastes a lot like sweet and sour pork, so we might try this with chicken next time! Super quick and easy too!

Lisa's Favorite Carne Asada Marinade
This is a fabulous recipe! I wasn't so sure about all the citrus juices, but it doesn't overwhelm the meat (which I barely had 2 lbs of). I added a little extra chipotle pepper (on accident) and it still turned out awesome. Also, I made it in the slow cooker since we were planning on it for dinner that night. Turned out great (on high for about 3 hours), then "fried" it up in a cast iron skillet to give it that wonderful crunchiness from the grill. Also used a little of the left over marinade on some brown rice. Overall, an awesome recipe!
