About this Cook
I'm a fairly recently married carpenter in NH. I love cooking for family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
Pizza on the grill with fresh veggies and delicious meats has to top my list. During the winter, when the grill is put away, I am a cast iron chef. I love searing a juicy delmonico on the stove top then sliding it into the oven to finish it to perfection.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love mexican food! My interest now is in becoming more open to different flavors from around the world, with an emphasis on healthier fare. Anything with fresh vegetables, herbs, and spices.
My cooking triumphs
My best friend and I have a running competition over grilled pizza. It's a brutal and delicious contest of flavors! My real claim to fame is my smoked pork shoulder topped with my fantastic North Carolina style vinegar and brown sugar based sauce. Serve it up on a nice ciabatta and you're in heaven!
My cooking tragedies
Every time I try to fry anything I fear that the fire department will show up.

Grandma Jeanette's Amazing German Red Cabbage
This is a fantastic recipe. I doubled the recipe so I could use a whole head of cabbage. I also added an apple and used honey instead of sugar. This made a great twist on a reuben sandwich. I put it on good bread with roast beef and swiss. grilled it up and enjoyed. Lots of flavor and good texture. It can be frozen so I have no problem with making a large recipe.
