Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2011
This was my first time making a cobbler and it was horrible for me. I waited to review until i made a successful cobber just to be sure that i wasnt cobbler-cursed (hopeless at making cobber). The flavor was really very wonderful but, like quite a few others, i had soggy peaches. It broke my heart to just toss all those peaches but they really were so nasty in all the liquid that there was no saving it...soggy peaches makes unicorns cry. I do not suggest to NOT try the recipe but i do think that if you have never made cobber before this is not a good recipe to start with. I have no suggestions on how to not get all that liquid in the cobbler like i did but others have said it was all dependent on the kind of peaches you use and i didnt think that my peaches were juicy! i will be willing to try this recipe again a little later and i hope that i will be able to change my review and rating.

Simply Lemon Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
This recipe provided the perfect guide on how to cook a whole chicken. I added pepper and garlic and rosemary and olive oil and i really dont think you can go wrong as long as you season it according to your own tastes. I also added rice to the broth that was in the bottom of the dishafter it had cooked for a few hours (the last 30-ish mins before it was ready). I suggest any Nooblet cook to try this recipe and go crazy with the herbs you have on hand to make it taste wonderful :)

Pear Pie II

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
I read that it was supposed to have a custard texture but when i made it it was bread-ish in texture. I have no idea if i may have done something wrong, maybe baked too long. The Man-Thing thought the flavor was okay but the texture was just not what one would expect when biting into a pie. If i ever get more pears that i need to do something with i will try it again simply because it bugs me that something, although i dont know what, had to have been done wrong. If/when i do try again hopefully i can revise and give it 5 stars and figure out what NOT to do :)

Peanut Butter Pie IV

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2010
Wonderfully easy! I did do a few things different, first off i hate Cool Whip when the real thing is so easy to make so i used 3/4th cup of cream and whipped it and add that as i would have the whipped topping. I piped a small amount on the top of the pie also to make it look pretty. I also used to Chocolate graham cracker crust. Next time i plan on getting a bigger pie crust because the 9 inch was either too small or the guessing game i had with the amount of whipped cream made my pie a bit too big. i also topped with home made Chocolate Syrup that can be found on this site. The taste reminds me a Reese's. I will plan to make again.

Real Strawberry Cupcakes

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2010
Uber easy! My little sister-in-law asked for a strawberry cake for her Bday and, realizing i had never seen a recipe for one i stumbled on this recipe. I skipped out on the food coloring and they were a tinge of pink anyway. I didnt strain the puree b/c my strainer would not have strained most of the seeds. i added more than 1/2 cup powdered sugar to the frosting because all i could taste was cream cheese and i wanted to make it a bit more thick so that i could pipe it out. i also added some lemon zest to the frosting b/c i just felt like it and was glad i did when i tasted it, thought it added a nice Zing to the frosting. When my sweetheart tasted the batter and i think he re-realized why he loves me.

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I dont have a food processor so just used my bowl and wooden spoon to whip these up and they turned out great. they were super moist, so much so they seemed to not want to leave the tray so i would suggest lining the cups. I forgot to add vanilla and will remember not to add it next time b/c i dont want to change a thing from what i ate today. They werent very muffin-like to me, it was almost something between a cup cake and a cookie. The muffin tops were crisp and they didnt bloon out as i had expected.

Old Time Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
i love chicken and i love broccoli. so this was right up my ally. Only thing i would change is how i cooked my broccoli. i add just salt to my water so i found the dish a little lacking on flavor, but that is a mtter of preference. next time i will feel free with my seasoning cabinet.

Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
I Just made this and the boys are in the den with smiles after eating it with maple sausage. (boys being my hubby and an out of town guest) I used fresh blueberries and the batter was thick but once I started cooking it i figured it was to keep all those berries in place. I added a Tablesp. more sugar and i always add vanilla to my pancake batter, even the store bought mixes. There was not any bubbles that popped or anything to let me know when to flip em. the one time the i tried waiting on them one side of the cakes got a little darker than i would have liked. Only two suggestions i have, 1--maybe you shouldnt wait for bubbles and 2--i intend to use an icecream scoop to spoon the batter next time. hope this helps :)

French Breakfast Puffs

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
I liked the puff but not so much the grainy sugar on top of it. SO i was trying to figure out something i could do instead of the sugar and the hubby suggested a cream cheese frosting.

i LOVE easy pies and this is one of them! I made it exactly as directed. I would push my mother out of the way to get the last slice because it really is just that good.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
They are really tasty, Creamy, and you really cat go wrong with OREOs in baked goods. I dont know if i rolled them too small but it seemed for me to take a while to roll and dip them...of course the hubby bunrded my 2nd bowl of melted chocolate so that might have made it seem to take too long. Next time (and yes, there will be a next time) i will settle in front of the tv at the coffee table rolling them dipping.

Chocolate Caramel Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
This is too easy to be as good as it is! I *thought* I had messed the whole thing up by accedently grabbing the regular Cool Whip instead of the French Vanilla when i made it. The pie turned out Very Rich, but not an over powering sweetness. I would like to say that i shared it with other people but the pie was just too good to share with anyone but the hubby and he loved it too. A small servign with coffee or a hot Chocolate is heavenly!
