Parmesan Roasted Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2012
Fixed this corn today...omg, it's amazing...wrapped in foil as directed but was taking forever to cook, so I unwrapped it & just laid it on the grill grate...mayonnaise was a new one on me, but it's good! Didn't even miss the butter! Thanks!

Simple Grilled Vegetables

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2012
Made these today on the charcoal grill...added some scallions, mushrooms and greeen peppers with zucchini & yellow squash..tasted great, but the peppers weren't cooked enough & the zucchini was too well done...not the fault of the recipe though...I also added a little fresh rosemary with the oil, salt & pepper and marinated about 30 minutes...I liked this alot!

Mahogany Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2012
Loved the flavor from the molasses/teriyaki sauce...such a simple idea that turned out great! I cooked them on my charcoal grill, basting with the sauce they were marinated in (for 1 hour). This one is definitely a keeper...simple and delish! Served with the Parmesan Roasted Grilled Corn and Simple Grilled Vegetables, both from this site...

Hot Dog Relish

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2012
This recipe is same as what i make, but I do use 8 green peppers and 6 red peppers...use it in mac & tater salads, sloppy joes, barbecues, everything! It's been known to us as "Hot Dog relish' but we use it for everything and everyone loves it!! And while we used to grind by hand, now I use the food processor cause it's easier on the hands...:)

Croissants

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
Had no problems making these, have done them before with a different recipe. Think they needed to be baked a little more, as they collapsed! Taste was good, I got them nice & neat looking but they were difficult to cut or eat because they just weren't crisp enough on the outside. Tasted good, most of them looked good (ones on top of basket anyhow!!)...next time baking longer.

Mashed Potato Quesadilla

Reviewed: May 22, 2012
made these today, pretty easy & really tasty...carb lovers dream...the first tortilla slipped a little when I tried to flip it, so learned to be more careful! I put sour cream in the potates as well as on the top w/salsa...and used hickory smoked bacon and taco blend cheese...very good, will make again...served with Spicy Honey Mustard Glazed Ribs (this site)...nice combo!

Spicy Honey-Mustard Glazed Pork Ribs

Reviewed: May 22, 2012
Followed the recipe as far as the sauce, but used boneless country style ribs for meat. And I don't have a charcoal or gas grill, so used my stove. First seasoned meat w/salt & pepper & fried in a little oil to get them good and browned. Transferred to a baking dish and spooned some sauce over, covered w/foil & baked...then removed foil, poured rest of sauce over & turned ribs over...they came out so good!! We really liked the sauce, couldn't find one thing I'd change about it at all... Oh, served with the Mashed Potato Quesadillas (from this site) and hubby was pleased with dinner...happy campers here!

Bacon Rosemary Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: May 14, 2012
Part of the nephew' birthday dinner...forgot to do the bacon, so that was missing...but had some minced onions and used dehydrated rosemary for seasoning...rather than use milk to mash potatoes, I used half a stick of unsalted butter and 8 oz sour cream...was pretty good, cooked about 7 lb of potatoes...duh, no clue what I was thinking! We had enough left to send home with everyone, along with some of the baked chicken...even the little kids liked it!!

Famous Chicken Francaise

Reviewed: May 14, 2012
part of my Mother's Day menu and tasted great! I didn't brown the chicken enough so it looked a little light, but was well cooked very tasty...i thought the broth was good but not thick enough...took leftovers & added more broth & thickening, now got gravy for leftovers...oh yeah, used chicken tenders too instead of split breasts. Yummo!

Second time making this recipe, but forgot the almonds!! Still were good, squeezed a little fresh lemon juice over the beans (frozen used) and sprinkled w/thyme...salt & pepper & yum!

Pineapple Bacon Burgers

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
I don't have a gas or charcoal grill, so did these in a pan on the stove...about the only thing I followed directions on was putting the barbecue sauce (used Jack Daniels No. 7) in the meat...used all the ingredients, but tweaked the method...used chunk pineapple cause that's all I had, so drained it & heated in skillet w/some bbq sauce to glaze it...bacon was precooked in the freezer in smaller pieces...and I added some romaine lettuce, tomato and miracle whip... The flavors were wonderful...pineapple was sweet and bbq sauce tangy...husband who always complains was quite satisfied with these burgers....he ate two of them!! Thanks for the recipe, will definitely be making them again...

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
Made this today as I was out of the storebought variety...it's not quite the same flavor, but good. I ground my own black peppercorns with a mortar & pestle, then blended the rest of the ingredients in and mixed well. Took about 5 minutes to make! For sure, it's more cost efficient and love having it on hand...I put it in a small ziploc bag for storage. Thanks for posting this!

Homesteader Cornbread

Love love love this recipe...had this along with baked chicken for nephew's birthday dinner... Generally add some molasses to my cornbread, but this one is just as the recipe is written, although I did double the recipe...very little leftovers!

great taste, light texture...omitted nuts cause I didn't have any, but it was good anyhow. Hubby likes it, and the fact it doesn't need frosted is a plus...will make again~

Baked Fake Steak with Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
Finally got around to making this...it's really tasty! I added some additional sliced onions and sliced mushrooms when baking, as well as made my own gravy instead of using the packaged stuff... Cut into 12 large squares, so essentially 12 meals...like the other lady said, don't let the time scare you...it's really simple to put together and well worth the time!

Easy Asian Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
This was excellent...only complaint is that it's really salty, & I used low-sodium soy sauce. Next time, I'll cut back on the amount of soy sauce. I also chopped whole water chestnuts and put them in so they cooked in the sauce, as suggested by another review. Served this with the Splash Of Color Skillet recipe...they went together very well, hubby gave it thumbs up! Went back for seconds, too...:)

Splash-of-Color Skillet

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
These are really good! The recipe says two servings...got about 3/4 cup total after cooking. Will increase amounts next time! The dressing was excellent, though I think the mustard overpowered the lemon/vinegar...but we liked it!

Fiber One® Chocolate-Peanut Butter Haystacks

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
Made this today, included 3/4 C. flaked coconut in with other ingredients. They turned out fine, taste is good; however, I think milk chocolate or peanut butter chips would be more desirable, as the semisweet chocolate seems to be very strong. You really can't taste the coconut much, but it does get stuck in your teeth... Not the best snack ever, but far from the worst! :)

Traditional Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
I made this today...changed a bit, used fresh cremini mushrooms, no oil, no flour...used lo-sodium beef broth for gravy base & mixed cornstarch for thickening...no Worcestershire either as I was limiting salt...it was soooo good!
