Cinnamon Swirl Bread for the Bread Machine

MY ADAPTIONS AND CHANGES: I put in the bread machine for the dough cycle. Then after rolling it out and spreading the filling, I let it rise covered in greased plastic wrap on the preheated oven for 1 hour. I left out the nuts and DOUBLED the filling as someone suggested. I also used 1/2 bread flour and 1/2 all purpose flour. I use 2 tsp. of yeast as 1 1/2 tsp. didn't rise enough. I also increased the cinnamon in the filling. So my filling is 1 cup packed dark brown sugar, 4 T. margarine, 6 teaspoons of cinnamon. No added sugar in the dough. But I make a confectioner's sugar icing to drizzle on it cooled. 1 1/2 c. of it, 4 T. margarine, which I use instead of butter, 1 tsp. of milk, the vanilla extract is optional.

Smokey Parmesan Sweet Potato Chips

I agree with the first commenter. It unfortunately has too much spice. I think that maybe SOME paprika, garlic powder and salt with butter would be better. The cheese, seasonings and olive oil created a blob and did not mix well on the chips.

Doc's Best Beef Jerky

I have made it twice with the ingredients exactly AND the 2 pounds of meat. Both times I have had to DOUBLE the marinade amount as it didn't cover the meat enough. I did put in a 9 x 13 inch glass dish that I have cover for and turned it have way through the approximate 24 hours of marinating. I would like to know if anyone else had to double the marinade. I will say that I am still giving it 5 stars BECAUSE my family and (for the 2 days it barely lasted) said it was as good and better than "store bought".

Crunchy Honey Wheat Bread

I loved it!! My changes were: Since Fleischmann's yeast package says that is equal to 2 1/4 tsp. of active dry yeast I used it from the jar. Also I used crushed original Mini-wheats cereal (rolling pin and a Ziploc)and increased to 3/4 cup from a 1/2. Last but most important: I increased the liquid to 1 1/2 cups and used 2 % milk SINCE lots of bread machine recipes say use milk or water/milk powder. I WILL MAKE THIS AGAIN AND AGAIN.......

Wasabi Green Peas

I made it without the MIREPOIX which I looked up how to make. (It is basically 50% onion and 25 % each of carrot and celery. It is used more in different types of soup stocks as a base.) ....Everything else worked great together. I LOVE the recipe without the Mirepoix mixture. THANKS for sharing it with us!!

Super Easy Rosemary Bread Machine Bread

I usded 1 1/2 tsp. of bread machine yeast INSTEAD of the 2 1/2 tsp. of active yeast. Did everything else the same. It was perfect. The reason a reduced the yeast measurement is BECAUSE that is a better amount and average/typical for a 1 1/2 lb. loaf in the machine. Thanks for the recipe!!

Hawaiian Bread III

I did as one reviewer suggested,I used the 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple drained. I did flaked coconut with some canned coconut milk to make a cup TOTAL. It was fantastic.

Cherry Pineapple Fruitcake

It is great soaked in brandy for a few days. Soak cheesecloth in brandy OR rum wrap the cake after baking. Then cover in tin foil. It improves with age!!

Chinese Steamed Buns

I read somewhere that you can wrap the bamboo steamer cover in a small towel before putting on top for the 15 minute steaming and that will stop the condensation dripping on the buns while they steam. You can use any kind of meat or dessert filling. A BBQ pork or shredded coconut in a custard, etc. THAT IS MY FAVORITE.....

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

I added 1/4 cup of dry instant milk which a lot of bread machine cookbooks add. I put the flax seeds in the coffee grinder and cracked them a little. It is recommended to get the nutrients released. I changed from 1 teaspoon of active yeast to 1 1/2 teaspoons of bread machine yeast. Other cookbooks say to be sure the sunflower seeds are UNSALTED. It was perfect. Thanks for the recipe and other reviewers' comments.
