Peanut Butter Cookies IX

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
Fantastic peanut butter cookie!! Chewy and soft! Followed recipe ingredients exactly. The recipe did not say to pack down the brown sugar like alot of recipes do, so I did not pack it down. Turned out delicious!! Now the first batch i made, i baked for 8 minutes like the recipe calls to do. They were still soft but seemed to flatten out a little more than i like so the second batch I put in for 7minutes 30 sec and they did not flatten out so much and were perfectly soft and chewy!! Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly and since it calls to bake them for 25-30 minutes, i checked them at 25 minutes and they were not done in the middle so I let them bake for 2 more minutes and took them out. I didnt want to over bake and have the edges turn out overdone and hard like so many of my brownies do. I should have let them bake another minute or so because the middle was still not completely done. Tasted great though!!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
I liked the meatballs alot but the sauce seemed too "tomatoey" to me. And I suppose it would with the cans of whole tomatoes and tomato paste added to it. I did have to substitute smashed up crackers for the bread crumbs. I liked it but will probably look for a different recipe for sauce next time I make spaghetti.

Bobbie's Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2011
I will never use another recipe when I want to bake oatmeal cookies!! These are the BEST hands down!! The only thing I did different was I used 1/2 cup (unsalted) butter and 1/2 cup shortening in the mixture instead of using 1 cup of butter and I added 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon right before dropping them onto a cookie sheet with parchment paper on it. Absolutely mouth watering cookies!!!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
This was my first time making cornbread and I was just blown away at how easy this was to make and how moist, sweet and delicious it came out!! The only thing different I did was to make my own buttermilk because I didn't have any on hand. I made it by mixing 1 1/2 tbsp of lemon juice to 1 cup of milk and letting it sit for 10 minutes before adding it to the mixture per the recipe directions. My room mate made a pot of beans and ham to go with it and we nearly ate it all up in one evening!!

Kelsey's Favorite Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
I decided to use pork chorizo in place of the ground beef and followed the rest of the recipe to a T. Turned out delicious!! The chorizo definitely spiced things up, so I also added some sour cream to mine. Would definitely recommend!!!

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
This is by far the best recipe I have ever used for french toast. Using flour in the mixture kept it from being soggy, which is something I don't like about french toast. This is my new go-to recipe when Im wanting french toast in the morning!!

BREAKSTONE'S Triple Chocolate Bliss Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
Omg this cake rocks!! I used a devils food cake mix and Im here to tell you it was delicious! I didnt have any whipped cream on hand to make the topping that goes along with this cake recipe but did use a different AllRecipes chocolate glaze recipe for the topping and added some chopped up almonds sprinkled on top. Beautiful as well as scrumptious!

Bread Pudding I

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
This was my very first time making bread pudding and my roommate and I just loved it!! The only change I made to the recipe was that I used whole wheat sandwich slices of bread instead of white bread. We ate ours still warm out of the oven with a scoop of french vanilla ice cream on the side. Delicious!!
