Angel Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2000
These definitely need more sugar to please the average palate, and I an usually the first person I know to avoid really sweet things...I did manage to save the whole batch by adding twice the amount of chocolate chips, and then dipping all the cookies in melted chocolate...it at least gave them a little more flavor, if not sweetness...kids hated them, won't make again unless I add some orange and twice the sugar.

Good stuff! Elegant for company, it was also quite kid-friendly (in my house anyway)

Grilled Oysters with Fennel Butter

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2000
Our whole family really enjoyed these. The flavor was quite different from the way any of us had eaten oysters before. Kids even liked them although I heard a "too slimy" comment or two. The fennel was unique and very much enjoyed. Thanks.

Bacon Wrapped Barbeque Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2000
Overall excellent. Kids didn't like too much, but they aren't the biggest shellfish fans. The grownups loved 'em, and I wish I had made more. I halved the recipe cause we had oysters too. Wish I'd just made the shrimp!

Game Day Hamburgers

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2000
These were great. They reminded me of a hamburger my mom used to make when I was little (potato) but with a little more kick! Kids loved them (always a plus)...and hubby and I did too. Definitely a make-again.

Chicken and Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2000
This really was an excellent all-around recipe. I made it with refrigerated biscuit dough, which made it all that much quicker and easier. Kids loved it (love any form of pot pie) Generally a hearty, very family friendly meal.

Super easy and quick...especially great if you love Italian food in the traditional way...just with a little twist. Would definitely make again!

Baked Spinach

Reviewed: May 29, 2000
This one really depends on whether your family or guests are spinach lovers. Mine are! They raved and I have to agree 100%.

Tomato Pork Chops I

Reviewed: May 29, 2000
Excellent, fairly easy recipe. Considering my family will usually only eat pork chops made one of two ways, this was quite a departure, and they loved it! Also quite quick and easy.

Best Ever Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: May 29, 2000
Good choice if you are short of time and don't mind a LOT of grease. Quite kid-friendly, tasted pretty good, but was literally SWIMMING in grease. I used a cream of poblano (pepper) soup instead to give a little more flavor, but it still could have used a bit "more" to it.

Three Bean and Artichoke Salad

Reviewed: May 29, 2000
This is an excellent quick choice! Made it for a picnic at my in-laws and it was a big hit. Didn't spice it up like I normally would have (little more salt-n-pepper and hotter mustard) but it turned out just perfect to serve to a variety of people. I also added mushrooms, and some wax beans. Overall, great!
