Easy Cheese Ball II

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2013
This was yummy and got lots of compliments! I rolled it in fresh crumbled bacon instead of pecans as other reviewers suggested. My only qualm was that it was a little stiff, which made it roll into a ball easily, but it was a little difficult to scoop with a cracker.

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
WOW - this is phenomenal. I LOVE this pie. The bourbon flavor is a little strong, so I reduce it to a couple table spoons or so (I'm a bad measurer). But let me recommend - when you are choosing a bourbon to use in the pie - the brand matters. Try it with Southern Comfort. You will NOT be disappointed. It is naturally a little sweeter than other bourbons, and it works SO well in this pie. I've used Makers Mark and JD, but Southern Comfort wins!! It's so good. It's good in egg nog, too - which goes perfectly with the pie. yum!

Chocolate Chip Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
Scrumptious when it's still warm out of the oven. Oh man, it's so delicious. I love it. Every time I make this, everyone begs for the recipe. I never add the nuts because I'm just not a nut person in desserts. Thanks for this recipe - I will make it again and again.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
I make this a lot when we are having company. It's so easy, I don't even have to worry about it. I just put a little sauce on it after I pull it apart in the crockpot, and then I set out different kinds of sauces and people can put on what they like. I serve it with pickles and sliced onions, cole slaw, and chips. I also always use a pork shoulder. So much more for your money, and when it cooks all day, it comes out so tender - you don't need the tenderloin for delicious results. Some people say to add seasonings, but why, when it comes out so good just like it is, and its so easy to just toss in the crock pot as is. Thanks for this recipe!

Perfect Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
This is so good. The sauce this makes is fantastic. I would recommend using this and making all kinds of sesame dishes - shrimp, pork, whatever. Serve with jasmine rice and sugar snap peas. So delicious!

Chocolate Eclair Dessert

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
this is so good. I definitely recommend using the frosting recipe another reviewer posted - it is so much better than the canned frosting - it really makes the dessert. Everyone asks for this recipe at gatherings. Fantastic! Thanks!!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
This was fantastic. I made some homemade donuts from this site and the best part about them was this glaze. The donuts - not so much, so I have to find something else to put this on. :)

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
My husband who hates apple pie, ate this and liked it. He didn't go back for seconds, but he ate the whole slice - which is huge! This pie was so good. I loved it because it didn't come out like apple soup filling, which so many apple pie recipes do. So tasty and gorgeous. I will be making this next week for Thanksgiving for sure. Thanks for this recipe!!

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
This is a great soup that makes a ton. I've made it several times now, and it never disappoints. I use my own taco seasoning creation -but I make enough to be the equivalent of 1 1/2 packets of taco seasoning. I usually try to find Mexicorn in the canned food aisle, and sometimes I skip the green chiles, only because I don't always remember to buy them. I try to keep the ingredients for this on hand in case anyone suggests a get together on short notice. I don't ever have to add the full amount of water because the liquid from the other ingredients takes up most of the room in my crock pot. I love to serve this with crackers, or tortilla chips, cheddar cheese and sour cream. Sometimes we have beer bread with it, which is fantastic. Thanks for this recipe - it's a keeper!

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
YUM! This is so good. It is really important to remove the unpopped kernels of corn before you add the caramel. Also, I like to sprinkle a little salt after the caramel coating right as it comes out of the oven. Oh man, this stuff is good. So addictive and really not that hard to make. I've made it several times now and always get compliments on how good it is. Thanks for this recipe!

Cindy's Awesome Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
This was so yummy!! I had never made clam chowder before this, so I was a little nervous that it would be too clammy or too fishy, but it wasn't - it was delicious!! The only change I made was I used onion soup mix instead of leek soup mix - I looked everywhere for leek soup mix and I just couldn't find any, so I had no choice. Otherwise, I stayed true to the recipe and I will make this again, for sure. Even my kiddos and picky husband said we should have this again - they loved it. Next time I may try blending it with a hand blender before I add the clams and bacon in so I can "hide" the carrots and potatoes from my kids. It might make it a little thicker too, which would be good. But this was awesome - thank you!

Sweet and Spicy Pecans

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2013
These were tasty! I really wanted them to be sweeter, so I may increase the sugar or decrease the chili powder or both next time I make these (and there will be a next time). I followed the recipe almost exactly, only reducing the cayenne because we have kids. Maybe I should have baked them a little longer, because they were sticky and soft. I let them cool completely on the counter, hoping they would dry out and crisp up some, but they didn't, so I put them back in the oven at 225 and roasted them "chex mix style" for 1 hr and 15 min., stirring them every 15 minutes, and they got nice and crunchy without burning. I'm glad I didn't give up on them because they are a unique, yummy snack to set out for company. Thanks for this recipe! :)

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2012
This recipe was defintely tasty. The only change I made was I used fresh potatoes that I grated. Now, that seems silly because frozen is so much easier, but I had potatoes I was trying to use up. I grated them, soaked them, drained them, and wrung them out in a towel. I did not precook them. I mixed everything together and baked just like the recipe said. (I did add a little thyme, too, which was yummy). The end result was yum! I left off a star because I was hoping the hashbrowns would get brown and crispy on top - which may have happened if I had used frozen potatoes, I don't know. But it was a little on the mushy side. But the flavor was fantastic!!! Will definitely try this again!

Cajun Seafood Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2011
Wrote my first review to rave about this pasta!! As we were eating it, my husband declared it better than Olive Garden. He went back for thirds!! It was yummy!! I did add a little extra milk to the cream, and brought my cream to a boil with the herbs and seasonings in it. I reduced the spicy seasonings down quite a bit because we have children. I used frozen shrimp and scallops, and it still turned out amazingly!! From start to finish it took maybe 35 minutes to prepare, so bonus points for being quick, too!! We will be eating this one again! It was super delicious!!!
