Egg and Cheese Puffs

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2015
These are fantastic. I made a few modifications. -substituted breakfast sausage for the bacon -sauteed onion and green pepper with the sausage -used 22oz cottage cheese instead of 16 (i didn't realize the container was that big!) -added a little extra flour to compensate for the extra cottage cheese -added salt and pepper to taste -omitted the butter, there was plenty of grease left from the sausage -poured it all in a 9x13 pan and baked for close to 40 minutes. Pulled it out when the bottom was turning brown and a fork came out clean from the middle -I cut it into squares and will freeze whatever isn't eaten before it cools!

'Beefy' Cheesy Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
We enjoyed this recipe--my husband ate seconds and didn't complain. I followed the recipe as best I could, but omitted the soy sauce as we didn't have any. I also used elbow macaroni instead of rotini because that's what I had, but I really don't think that changes anything. Overall, I think this is a great meal. The only change I would make is to stir the taco seasoning in the milk before it's added to the pasta.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2014
The absolute best green bean casserole I have ever had. The only changes that were made the recipe were using fresh green beans and plain yogurt instead of sour cream. Oh, and putting the cheese in the sauce instead of on top.

Beef Paprika

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2014
This is excellent!! I made it in a slow cooker without the Worcestershire sauce because I didn't have any. I also omitted the shortening because I didn't brown the beef and onions. I just threw it all in the slow cooker on high for about 6 hours. The beef was super tender and delicious. We ate it over white rice. The sauce was perfect.

Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2014
We love this for breakfast or dinner! I have made it several times, and the only changes I've made were to use real potatoes chopped in little squares instead of the frozen hash browns I assumed the recipe called for. I see now that the recipe doesn't say anything about prepackaged potatoes. I also omitted the butter on accident the first time and found we liked it without. I also add a little salt and pepper to the egg mixture. Overall it's a superb recipe!

Hot Cocoa Mix

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2014
This is a great recipe. I just add extra powdered sugar because I like it sweeter. I made a 1/4 of a batch because the container I use for my mix is smaller than a full batch needs.

Donut Muffins

I love nutmeg. I love bread. This is the best of them both. I really, really like these muffins. I could eat the whole batch myself... not that I know from experience or anything. ;)

Mexican Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2014
YUM. I followed the advice of other reviewers and made two batches of corn muffin mix (I use a recipe from this site instead of the box). I omitted the olives because I don't like them. I loved how easy this recipe is.

Easy Vegetable Pot Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2014
super easy, super good. the recipe is a good base to use and then add seasonings to your taste. I used seasoning salt, a little chili powder, and skipped the thyme. also, i only had cream of mushroom soup so I used that and cut up a potato or two into small chunks to throw in with everything else.

YUM! My husband is picky about his chicken, but loved this. I will use less butter next time.

Quinoa with Peas

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2014
This was a good recipe. I will make it again, adding different spices and veggies to our liking. I used bullion cubes instead of broth and it tasted a little too much like ramen. I won't do that again!

Soft Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2014
These lived up to their name. I made them Saturday afternoon to take to Sunday dinner. They were still soft, and everyone loved them. I don't have a bread machine or a Kitchen Aid, so I mixed the dough, kneaded it until it was elastic and all the flour was mixed in, and let it rise until doubled. Then I followed the recipe. I made 24 per pan instead of 15, though I will likely stick with 15 next time as the 24 were kind of small. I gave this recipe 4 stars because the rolls just did not look good. I tried really hard to have smooth tops, but nothing worked. Maybe I kneaded it too long? Also, I forgot the egg in one batch and that dough turned out just a little less elastic than the batch with the egg. Either way, it was a good recipe that I will make again.

Super Easy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2014
This is the BEST doughnut recipe I have ever made. We loved making little doughnut holes with this dough. The only problem I found with the recipe was that it was really sticky when I made it as the recipe states. I ended up adding about a cup of extra flour and it turned out perfectly.

Old Fashioned Fudge

Mine is soupy, but tastes good. I think I was impatient and didn't let it cook long enough. :(

Sunday Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2013
I ended up making this recipe without eggs because I activated the yeast before I realized I was out of eggs. I figured it would be an experiment in cooking at the least. The dough turned out just fine without the eggs. Also, I was too impatient to roll the dough out and cut into triangles to roll up like croissants. So I just rolled little chunks of it into balls and baked it that way. DELICIOUS!!

i like the sweetness, but my husband doesn't. To compromise I just sprinkle enough brown sugar in the pan to cover the bottom lightly.

Wiener Wraps

The dough is a little sweet for my taste, but the recipe is tasty otherwise. I generally don't put ketchup inside the wrap, but have it onthe table so the family can add to their liking.

Southern Cabbage for the Pressure Cooker

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2012
By far my favorite cabbage recipe EVER! I generally brown a little spicy sausage in the open pressure cooker and then add the other ingredients... but I don't add butter since I use the drippings from the sausage. YUM!!!
