Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts II

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
These are always a HUGE hit - I usually make half the way the recipe says and the other half I add a slice of fresh jalapeno for all my heat loving family and friends. Gives it another layer of kick - try it!!

Chicken Spaghetti Casserole I

great taste but this was a little dry for me. I wanted the sauce to be a little creamier so I'll probably add some milk to mine next time.

Luscious Lemon Cake

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
I used lemonade instead of water and spiked it with a little lemon extract b/c we love lemon so much. For a glaze I squeezed fresh lemon juice into some store bought cream cheese icing until it became liquid enough to drizzle all over the bundt. These couple of changes make it a lemon zinger!

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
Super easy, super yummy! I wake up with a mad craving for crepes every other month or so and these are so quick to satisfy. For variations I will add a lot of vanilla and cinnamon or I'll add amaretto and top with raspberries and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Lattice Chicken Potpie

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
We loved this - here are my small modifications: I sauteed fresh onion, carrot, canned corn and frozen peas and hash brown potatoes. I really like a lot of flavor in my meals so I threw in a few spashes of marsala wine and a couple tablespoons of sour cream. I was lazy and didn't lattice the crescent rolls, but it was still amazing. My picky hubby loved it!

Only thing I added was halved marichino cherries for a little festive color. This was super easy and quite a hit with the family.

Shepherd's Pie

Super easy and a definite classic comfort food during the winter time! I used peas and corn and added a little crumbled bacon to the meat mixture. Not the lowest calorie/fat meal, but once in a while this is necessary!

World's Best Bacon Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
Great dip, everyone loved it. I added more scallions and about 3 cloves of chopped garlic. I also did swiss, cheddar, and parmesan. I used the bacon bits that come in the resealable bag and there wasn't a bite that didn't have a load of bacon in it. It started out as a dip but as it cooled, it became a nice spread. Great on celery and sourdough chunks.

Blender Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2005
This is the easiest mousse I've ever made and it tastes just like the restaurants, not some pudding knock off. I use amaretto instead of brandy for personal preference and it's always a huge hit. I love to serve with rasberries.

Dip For The Stars

This was a huge hit. Mine didn't actually come out all that pretty due to my own error and still everyone devoured it and asked for the recipe! This will be a dinner party staple from now on.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2004
Easily 5 stars! I didn't read the reviews first, so I freaked a little when the batter was like a cookie dough. I added more milk till it looked similar to other muffin batter. They turned out amazing, but apparently I could have left it alone and they would have been equally fine. I used a heaping cup full of blueberries and this made 8 nice large muffins. The topping made these taste and look like something out of a magazine. Definitely a keeper!!!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2003
This pie was a big hit and I only witheld the fifth star b/c I forgot to put a cookie sheet under the pie dish and about a 1/4 cup of oil spilled on to the bottom of the oven in the midst of Thanksgiving, making my house a smoky mess. Other than that and having to smell this mistake for the past several days, I have to say everyone loved it.

Excellent batter! I added a ton more beer to make it thinner. Made this for a fish fry and received a ton of compliments. Will definitely make this one again!

Charline's Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2002
Excellent recipe and this is now going to be a holiday standard. I like things sweet, but I cut the sugar in half and only used 1 stick of butter for the casserole and 1/2 stick for the topping. Came out beautifully and ooey gooey!!
