Very easy and tasty. I did add a teaspoon of vanilla but that is the only change and they turned out moist, chewy and yummy!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
It was so easy I thought it would lack flavor but was so good! I did add lemon zest and vanilla but other than that I followed the recipe exactly. We had it on Easter so I added some lemon curd to the top and some powdered sugar. MMMMMM!!! I will use this recipe from now on and add soem blue corn meal to the batter in lieu of flour next time for a change. Thanks!

Killer Shrimp Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
This was really good and great on a cold night. I did not have celery seed or fennel seed so I just added the ends of my celery stalk which has all the flavor. I also used 1/2 cup of UNSALTED butter instead of the full cup of salted butter and it turned out great. I like to add hot chili sauce to my individual serving as I like it spicier than my husband does. I also took the tails off the shrimp. Next time I would add chopped celery and sliced mushrooms. You can add pretty much anything to this yummy broth soup! Thanks for the recipe.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
Very easy to make and uses ingredients I almost always have in stock. I added black beans and more chili powder. Next time I will omit the water and just use chicken broth as I had to add more salt to enhance flavor - I think by omitting water, it will enhance the flavor. I served with hot sauce and jack cheese.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: May 8, 2007
It was 95 degrees yesterday and this fruit salsa was just perfect! Great on a hot day. I followed the recipe but used frozen rasberries which seemed to make it mushy. Next time I will use fresh berries, add pineapple, use one fuji apple for a tarter taste and reduce the sugars in 1/2. Chips were wonderful~ Good unique recipe!

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
Very refreshing! I added finely chopped celery, cucumber and cherry tomato halves to make it more of a meal. With the additions I also made a bit more dressing and used more lime and vinegar than oil. It was a hit and I have been asked to make it over and over again!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2007
Very good. I omitted the sausage and used ground turkey and it turned out great! I also added some mushrooms to the sauce and zucchini to the layers - this recipe is very forgiving to your personal taste. I like the sauce so much I freeze it in smaller containers. When I need a quick dinner, I defrost it and add to my favorite marinara sauce for semi home made spagetti, fill it in pasta shells or make a mini last minute lasagna.

Curried Carrot Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2004
This was excellent. Ised fresh carrots from my garden. I made a few changes. I did not have vegetable broth so I used chicken broth. I added a celery stick and a fresh bell pepper. I also added about 1 table spoon od sugar, a pinch of ginger, a teaspoon of cinamon and a dash of nutmeg to give it a sweeter taste. I also used about 2 tablespoons of curry powder. I pureed in my blender 2 times to give a creamier texture. Wonderful on a cold day.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
One of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever made! It really is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I found it better to cook a bit longer...apx 12 minutes each. The crispier ones still stayed chewy inside. Thanks for a great recipe!

Caesar Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
This was excellent as I am very picky on my caesar salads. In order to make it blend well, I put all ingredients in blender for a great creamy texture. I reduced the mayo to 1/2 cup and added about 1/4 cup of olive oil to reduce the heavyness. ( I am used to making with no mayo). I also added one egg for a fluffy texture and 1-2 tablespoons of red wine vinegar and a dash of tabasco for a zing. It makes it a bit spicy, how I like it, and definitely does not lack flavor. An excellent meal and the dressing is even better the longer it sits.

Asparagus with Parmesan Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2008
Very Yummy and great to serve as a side dish for a dinner party! I prefer thicker asparagus and I "snap" off the bottoms. Along with the pepper I added a few dashes of salt. I omitted the red wine vinegar and used lemons instead (also pretty so serve with a few lemon rounds on top). I will never boil my asparagus again!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
I have to admit, I too was not too optimistic about this recipe but it turned out well. A nice blend of flavors and something I can easily make when I get home from work. Stayed well the next day. Thanks for the recipe.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
I ma not an apple pie eater and this one was truely delicious. The first one I made, I poured the contents over the apples and crust as described in the recipe. I thought it seemed odd but since that is the way the recipe read, I tried it. It was an ungly 9but yummy) mess. The second time I mixed most of the contents with the apples and with the small amount that was remaining, I brushed on the top of the pie crust and in the lattice holes as I did a lattice crust. This made it brown perfectly and cook perfectly. It is not too sweet and perfectly tart. When I need to make an apple pie, I will definitely be using this recipe!!! Thank you.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
This is a great simple recipe for a healthy and tasteful soup! My only change is adding a garlic clove in with the onion and saute. I also doubled the celery and carrot as I like the vegetables. It is great with canned broth and even better with homemade broth. Just stick some chicken bones in the crockpot with onion, garlic, seasonings, carrots, celery and parsley. Cook for 8 hours and strain. Either way is still yummy. My kids absolutely love it!

Blue Cornmeal Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
These were very good. I did not add the pine nuts but did add blueberries. Would be good with a tad of lemon zest as well. It was not lacking any sweetness. Once you add the syrup, it is plenty sweet.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
I, like others, was hesitant on the beer in the recipe but no hesitation now. I typically like the brothy tortilla soup and this has less broth and still so flavorfull! I used trader joes frozen corn because to me it tastes like fresh corn, added juice of 1 lime, 3 chopped tomatoes and added cilantro. I also used the seasoning mix suggested by the submitter (under highest rated reviews) and it makes a HUGE difference. Packaged taco seasoning is overwhelming and I rarely use. Thanks for the soup recipe and the taco seasoning recipe!

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
This soup was so good the night of and the next day! I made a few changes as I did not have all the ingredients. For the tomatoes, I used one can of diced tomatoes and 2 cans of stewed tomatoes (which I cut up to smaller pieces). For the beans I used one can of kidney beans and one can of plack beans. I also used 4 frozen chicken breasts instead of 8 and it was plenty! Next time I would also add okra. We served with tortilla chips on top - very tasty! It had the perfect amount of spice but may be too spicy for some. Will make many more times!

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2004
This was very tasty however I added some additional flavor. To dilute the canned soup taste, I added a splash of red wine, about 2 tablespoons of light sourcream, chopped rosemary (a must!)and topped off with fresh lemon juice and a pinch of paprika. I served with rosemary/lemon pepper potatoes and the sauce was a great addition to the potatoes!

Extra Easy Hummus

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
I am addicted! When I found out how fatening Tahini was, I vowed to not eat hummus for a while, since I cannot stop eating it. This is a great way to get my hummus fix without all the fat. I do add pepper and 1 tablespoon lemon and it is delicious. Great with baked rice chips or carrots.
